View Full Version : How smart is your right foot?

This is quite spooky...

So weird that it will boggle your mind! And you will keep
trying at least 50 more times ( well I gave up after half a dozen attempts! ) to see if you can outsmart your foot, but you can't.

1. While sitting at your desk, lift your right foot off the floor and
make clockwise circles.

2. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your
right hand.

Your foot will change direction.
I told you so .....And there's nothing you can do about it

Weird huh?:sherlock:  :whocares:

Depends how youuu draw the 6

true but 99% of people would start drawing from the top of the 6...

I did it and my foot didn't change direction (and I started the six from the top) - but maybe that's because I am left-footed...

I think maybe you have to be strange AND a drummer....

Maha
25th May 2006, 20:30
What about a strange drummer that has a club foot and cant fly a helicopter but can draw the number 6 but not with his foot, only his hand, would it still work then?????

Absolutely!!! But not if he is an amputee!

BAH, that was easy, just start really slow and speed up...

Like anything it can be learnt,

Either that or my brain owns your brain... :first:

Ixion

The trick is quite simple, just coordinate the rightward curve at the bootom of the "6" with the "top" (ie rightward component) of the circle, and vice versa for the leftward compenents. the vertical components may either be treated as true verticals or likewise coordinated if you wish to make them true curves.

If you analyse the movements into their compenent elements it is easy to understand.

Jamezo
28th May 2006, 11:40
Erk, if I think about it, I can pull it off, if I lapse in my concentration, it always changes direction. Stupid mis-wired brain...

How smart is your right foot?
Just try this. It is from an orthopaedic surgeon............
This will boggle your mind and you will keep trying over and over
again to see if you can outsmart your foot, but you can't.
It's pre-programmed in your brain!

1. WITHOUT anyone watching you (they will think you are GOOFY) and
while sitting where you are at your desk in front of your computer,
lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.
2. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your
right hand. Your foot will change direction.!!!!!!!!!
told you so!!! And there's nothing you can do about it! You and
We both know how stupid it is, but before the day is done you are
going to try it again, if you've not already done so.

You have a lot of time on your hands don't you Glen...

But, yeah, that was really interesting! My foot definitely, automatically, changed direction to match the direction that my right hand was moving...

Ok, I'm game..I'll try:

Ok going slow and purposely round and round with my tootsies:shifty: :shifty: looking inconspicuous...
breathing hard now, I am waggling my finger...how does 6 go again?

Wait for it... stopped breathing in concentration...
It's not bloody working aargh..my body is tricking me...traitor neuromotors:crybaby: I failed!

Your foot will only change direction to anti clockwise if you draw the '6' in the air from the top of the numeral downwards. If you start at the join and draw the 6 backwards, your foot will continue in the clockwise direction and you've foiled the evil plot! Muahaha ;)

when starting from the middle my foot changed direction,
when starting from the top it was happy to keep going the same way

EDIT: geh, i was beaten to it :bleh:

Bonus points if you can move your foot clockwise while tracing the number 6 on your stomach and patting your head at the same time.

My foot did change direction, but it was real weird - it sort of cut through the middle of the circle it was drawing, and then carried on clockwise. Must be that excessive discipline us sailors get in the Navy... Yeah Right...:shit:

Prior to injury everything worked perfectly, ask anyone who roder with me. After the injury some things just don't work, some things try to work but its not the same and some things are the same as before the injury. I think there aree several other factors that could be taken into consideration that the current poll does not take into account.:whocares:

This is hysterical. You have to try this. It is absolutely true. I guess there are some things that the brain cannot handle.

HOW SMART IS YOUR RIGHT FOOT?

You have to try this please, it takes 2 seconds. I could not believe this! It is from an orthopaedic surgeon............ This will confuse your mind and you will keep trying over and over again to see if you can outsmart your foot, but, you can't. It is pre-programmed in your brain!

Piece of piss, what are you talking about man?

Just draw the "6" in the opposite direction to what you normally would. Or, draw the "6" normally with your left hand.

Hey thanks now I can have a real laugh at myself - never thought of drawing the "6" in the opposite direction. Thanks

I will let my wife's cousin over in Aussie know, man I'm slow.

EDIT NOTE:
Damn slow me thinks, I see the topic was originally started in May 2006....
