I spoke to Raymond Paulo at Palmerston North City Council this week about their pay and display parking and whether motorcycles are permitted to use it. He came back with an unqualified YES! :clap:
Here are a few points from the discussion.
PNCC provide a number of designated motorcycle parks. These we can park in all day if we like.
Motorcycles are more than welcome to park in time limited and pay and display parks provided they abide by the general conditions of those parks - exactly the same rights as cars.
If more than one bike parks in a pay and display park then only one ticket is required.
Parking wardens have been instructed to look all over the bike for the ticket.
Common places to put tickets are in the screen, around a grip held by rubber band or attached near the rego/wof in a plastic sleave.
If you're worried about the ticket being stolen then write your rego number on the front of it before putting it on your bike.
If you get ticketed and think you shouldn't have been then please get in touch with them using the form at the bottom of this page (http://www.pncc.govt.nz/AtoZofServices/Detail.aspx?id=3163).
