2) groups will be decided on the day but there will be 4 groups so ya might wanna call it on the day.
If unsure you can pay a $20 non refundable deposit to secure your place but you end up paying pay more than those paying in full>
Hold fire a bit re account details guys. -Those of you above this post that have offered to pay get first dibbs.-You guys ARE IN

Toast
29th April 2005, 16:35
Sounds sweet. If we pay up front and then for some reason find that we can't make it, would we be able to sell our place (at a slight discount, I'm not trying to speculate here) to someone else?
No real drama if not, count me in please! I'll pay the full $ up front.

Cool, let me know when ya got that account setup. Will $60.00 cover all your costs? Didn't you over run last time?
FROSTY
30th April 2005, 15:14
$60 will be fine. Some of the costs were one offs. Reflective vests/stopwatch/stickers etc .
There were also unforseen at the time extra costs like -6 extra lunches ordered for marshalls.Unplanned accomodation cost blowout/extra insurance costs for the RT's and bank transaction fees totally out of this world.
I see it as beeing a learning curve so its not a problem.
And this time Im planning on 50-65 riders as well as a few pillions so I should be ok this time.

One question about the rules... one of the requirements is a full face helmet with no damage into the shell - how do you tell if your helmet has damage into the shell? Mine has a couple of scratches, and I've heard from some people that that's enough to warrant a new one, but well... :o
FROSTY
11th May 2005, 21:59
bring it by my work and Ill have a look at it for ya :niceone:
StoneChucker
12th May 2005, 17:17
Small scratches in the paint are fine. i've dropped my lid from waist height onto some gravel, and it has one small chip in the paint on top. That doesn't constitute a damaged / un track worthy helmet, don't worry. If you've had a major bin with your lid, you'll know - and that is what isn't safe to use on the track (or anywhere).
I think we're going a little overboard if you think of not passing someone for stone chips on lids...
FROSTY
12th May 2005, 20:58
SC -its a matter of interpretation. And what value you place on ya head.
a couple of paint chips are normal wear and tear.
a chip into the jell coat -the actual structure of the shell is a concern
My attitude is -if in doubt then replace it .
Sheep Dags
13th May 2005, 08:37
oh yea, by the way I'm due for a new lid. Where can i get a cheepy? Anyone know of any "fell off the back of a truck but didn't get damaged" helmets?

Are there any spaces left? I'll need to find out dates of when we're breaking up for x-mas holidays but should be able to come down... also would there be a group of riders riding down there as I don't know how to get there?
Another thing, I'd deffinatly be in the "slow" group... but if on the day I chicken out, could I change to a marshall? (Don't know what being a marshall entails but I'd be happy to help out where ever I can).

Plenty of room. Go to the first page in this thread and look at the second message from Frosty. I think he is planning 40 or so bikes. Come along. I can assure you there is nothing to worry about. I have never heard anything but helpful comments and support at a track day. It is not a race just a training day. K/B days are always tops. :Punk:

 you don't. Some people will go up the day before and stay in Taupo for the night. See other posts on this or you could stay with some one closer to Taupo. Mary and I are happy to host people for the night and go up to Taupo in the morning. Takes about one hour 10 min from here. Depends on how many stay as to what we will do for food. If only 3-4 people we will cook a roast and have a home cook feed but if their are more we can get food from town. A cooked or other breaky. We can sleep 6 - 7 in beds but plenty in sleeping bags. First in get the beds. So closer to the day, if you want to stay and we are 18 km North of Napier , just post here or send a PM. The offer is there for everyone going up.

Ooooh!!! I wouldn't be in the fast group though - I don't push big bikes cause I'm not used to riding them hard, just sedately around suburban streets and sterile bits of motorway.
:Oi: I don't know if you can be trusted to look after the Jade mate - I have a disturbing memory of you hooning along standing on the seat and then jumping down onto the footpegs almost bottoming out the suspension!!! The poor little bub. :nono: And it is the Jade - it's not the type of bike that you get to just ride just anytime - it's a highly sort after machine! :bleh:
Nah - sounds good. :2thumbsup

Well mate its pretty easy -1-do NOT ever put yaself in danger -stay on ya station 2) if ya see a crash wave ya flag and call over your radio -RIDER DOWN RIDER DOWN. 3) if you hear someone else say that -wave ya flag. -waveing flags will tell all the other riders to get off the track.
4)When ALL the riders are off the track then go to the rider thats crashed and call for the ambo if you think its needed -if in doubt--CALL THE AMBO
To be honest youre unlikely to do more than stand around having the best seat in the house of Kiwibikers going fast
