View Full Version : Auckland: Free ART Day At Pukekohe

Hi all. Today I received notice that I've won a free ART day at Pukekohe, care of the Auckland City Council Road Safety Campaign.

Anyway, given I get a fair old amount of track time I thought a reasonable thing to do would to put up this free day for someone who hasn't yet done a track-day, anywhere.

Also, if said person needed a bike they could use mine....as we did with the group earlier this year.

And so, if you'd like to nominate someone, or yourself, then be in. Please provide your most compelling argument, in less than three lines, in one of these panes.

Maybe I'll choose the best five then put up a poll to let you all vote on who should be the inevitable winner.

I believe the next ART day is on12th Jan, but you don't have to attend that one. They're run monthly.

Good on you mate.

People, my son (16 y/o) did one of these on Davids' bike some months ago.. It was a dramatic success. Highly recommended.

David, Christian (1R,6) has his own 650 now.. I bet you will see him at the track this summer.

Can I have it please? I desperately need to improve my riding technique and will ask Kiwi Graham to gizza nub some coaching. My reason: Need to stop writing off so many bikes and learn something. I ride a 1000 cc bike and if anyone needs to learn the ways of these monstrosities, it is I.Ta!

Don't be such a greedy guts. Let it go to someone who at least fits the criteria.

Not being greedy far from. dpex can give it to who ever he likes. As an ART rider training day, and knowing Kiwi_Graham I thought I could learn how to improve my skills. :first:

Shit, I would be keen as!

I really need to learn some skills, have only been riding for a month or so and have never been to a track day, so I fit the bill.

Look I will even save you time, no need for a poll or to correlate all the posts etc just give it to me.

I've only got a 250 would they let me use that? or if there is any chance of my bike getting damaged maybe I could use yours? :devil2:

Oh but if it does go to a vote, vote for me! :first:

Are you still on your learners? At the ART day I went to you couldn't attend if you were on your L plates...But not sure if that still applies seen as this ticket was sponsored by ACC (Auckland City Council)?

I got the email too saying i'd won one, first time i've ever won anything. Already booked in for January one making it a free day!! Whooooppp. ART's are really good trackdays - heaps more input from the instructors than other operators.

Good onya Dpex for giving up yours for a newbie who will get a great experience.

Trackday would have been OK, but then they would have been short of a marshal. Riding courses probably better for the newbies.

Prize arrived today... a toolkit... oh well, guys can never have enough tools

I dunno if I deserve it or not but I think it'd be an excellent thing to do, I've been riding for 1.5-2 years and just today (WOO) got a new bike after my other one was stolen so a track day would be much easier to learn the limits of the bike/me rather than SH16 or SH22. Gonna be a full time student next year, rather than working full time so finding the money for one of these will be much more difficult.

I too would love to be considered for this... I have been riding a couple of years now, still buzzing about on my little ol' hornet on my 6F as I am determined to master the 250 before graduating to a bigger bike. I have yet to do a track day but would jump at the chance!

I nominate Neon

Because he has shown the ability and wilingness to learn, ride within his limits and always willing to participate in an activity that will make him a better rider.

(and hasnt had the joy of doing a track day yet)
