Saw this today as I drove by with a bootful of booze...

T intersection. Parked at the top of the stem of the T, waiting to turn left is a motorbike...

Unbeknownst to him, a treadlie comes up behind him and starts to sneak up beside biker on biker's left.

Traffic clears, treadlist tries to go past bike, on left side, just as biker takes off and turns hard left - thereby nearly taking treadlie out. Old dude on pushie ends up in gutter, still upright but only just. Biker looks, sees cyclist is OK and fangs off...

See! That's what can happen when you lane split...

Cyclists here are morons, I've had enough next time they stop infront of me at the lights or block where I'm going I'm putting bike on stand and standing infront of them, then when they try to go I'll close line the fucker or put a padlock on their wheel.

I'm trying to figure out whether to take that as a very funny tongue-in-cheek comment or as just another example of Kiwibiker hypocrisy.

Oh the irony.
I have seen exactly the same happened to a motorcycle recently that was sneaking along on the left in a cycle lane and did not allow for the car stopped at the roundabout turning left across their path (and yes the car was indicating).
Bike in the wrong. Car big. Bike in a big panic. Lots of yelling.

I don't go through a que and stop at the front knowing full well that I'd be slowing people down to a point where 4 or more people in that que will miss their light because of it.

Its like if you were in a que for at an ATM and some old person cuts in front, takes 2 mins to find their card, cant get it in the hole and can't read the f'n screen or buttons. Which I've seen happen and I'm thinking g thats a bit cheeky. Sorry but we were all here first and we're all going to be quicker than you, oh but sorry I didn't realise how much more important you are.

Cyclists in tauranga think they have more right to be one the road than anyone else and because your in a car or on a m'bike theres nothing u can do except run the chumps over.

First rule. Don't split on the left of the left lane when there is a left hand turn.
Second rule. Don't split on the right of the right lane when there is a right hand turn.

Common sense to me.

Third rule. Don't hit a concrete drainage pipe at 85k.:thud:

Cyclists have the right of way everytime, its the law!
Sorry, I ment ...its thier law.

Red lights? what the fuck are they all about?
2-3 wide whevever they can, seems only proper.
Pedestrian crossing? opps didnt see it.

I was parking along a car one morning (engine running cos I was just getting key instructions) was there maybe 20 seconds? this dork cyclist banged on my rear window, cos I was in his fucking way!!! he wouldn't go around me, na to hard, he waited for me to move.

Did the motorcyclist have his indicator on?

I don't think it's a good idea to bag cyclists, they are on two wheels too. I think they are our friends. I ride pushbikes too. Would you rather they all drove cars?

Sounds like Tauranga drivers in general really.

I cannot believe the amount of drivers closing the gap and and the aggro when they they see me splitting and then passing where you get to the bridge.(from the Mt side)..... Every bloody time.

It is less dangerous and easier to split from Manukau, all the way out west, up the north-western through drivers stuck in traffic for hours, than past drivers with a max 30 min wait across a pitiful harbour bridge.

Before you bite, I grew up there and my parents are still there, so I go down reasonably often. The most aggressive drivers in N.Z (especially when you factor in distance to travel and time in traffic) closely followed by CHCH.

I'd say the aggro etc from other parts of the country are at least in proportion with the amount of a traffic jam and time stuck in it they have to contend with.
