No joke, I was just ringing around some BMW dealers looking for something and happened to ring the Christchurch dealer. No one had want I want but that's beside the point.
Anyway, ring the Chch dealer and the lady on the other end of the line didn't know what I was talking about, she wasn't into bikes, but she said she'd have a look and give me a call right back. Yeah whatever thinks me.
No shit, 2 minutes later a dude rings back. "No mate, we haven't got what you want but I have it on order, I'll put one asside for you and give you a bell asap". Choice. "In the meantime, can I interest you in an F800R?" Ahhh, no offence but they're not my cuppa "No worries, the Superbike'll be here soon, want one held?" Anyway, stoked with the Chch dealership.
Other notable mention must also go to Sam at Motomart for the most novel solution offered.

Last year we went to Italy and I couldn't believe the number of R1200Rs on the roads there. If I was in the market for a BMW that's the one I'd go for.
I did look into a BMW a few years ago in ChCh but the dealership at the time (not the present one on Manchester St.) didn't inspire confidence and couldn't answer half of my questions.
What do you think of the R1200R?

The bike dealer you rang has merged with Jeff Gray BMW which is a car dealer. The bike and car dealerships if you like, are under one roof. The woman you spoke to would most likely have been one of the car sales people. I have met and spoken to most of them and they are good people and no I don't work for them. They have undergone renovations to fit the bikes etc in the show room.

Bloody cool customer service skills whatever they're into. Sales guy was a real laugh too. Nothing like good service to put a smile on the dial.

I have a solution. Move to where they make BMW or close enough, or stay here and buy a Honda. :devil2:

I thought the BMW/Yamaha dealership on Ferry Rd closed? Trevor Pierce is the new Yamaha agent now. Who is doing Beemers?

Good to hear a positive report! They have a pretty good rep with the cars from what I hear so hopefully it will carry through to the bikes.
Manchester Street in Christchurch is becoming The bike street. A quick walk within one small block will find: Harleys, BMW, Suzuki, Honda, Ducati, Triumph and Pit Lane (Cycle Treads). There is also a scooter dealer tucked down one of the small roads.
Bike city on a Saturday morning.:woohoo:

My bike came from Jeff Gray.
The sales guy was good to deal with.
When I popped into Experience BMW to get some head guards the service was top notch.

Nah, I was after BMW accessories that can't be bought anywhere else. Never actually shopped with Z-Germans before so opened my eyes a little.
