For those not up todate, "Zena" bit the dust big time last Thursday (10/12/09). Un-swept metal in a left hander left over from road works done back in Feb. The damage to the parts alone added up to $1300. Lucky for me, I only came away with a few bruises & 3 stitches in 1 arm (good riding gear works well aye).
Insurance has paid out. Have found the replacement at Five Star Suzuki in Napier (see http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=256677701 ) and it is being delivered to my door tomorrow:banana:
I have so many to thank for making this possible:
To the Norf Crew: For picking me up and dusting me off. Thanks Dudes and Dudette. especially to Kelvin for making space on his "horse for two".
To my Landlord & Lady: Thanks for taking me to A&E late at night & loning me their car & trailer to pick up "Zena's Body"
To the awesome couple living next to the corner I went down: Thank Dude & Dudette for minding "Zena's Body" over night, and helping to load "her"on the trailer the next day.
To Planet Honda: For helping me sort "Zena's"bit even though ya didn't get any work from repairing "her".
To the Assesser for being prompt.
To MSTRS: Totally Awesome Dude. Thanks for test riding the new bike in such short notice mate. I would not have been able to move so quick on this bike without your help.
To Five Star Suzuki Napier: Now you Dudes & Dudettes are the Bomb. Not only are they sending me up the bike before the money from the insurance is paid to them (no small risk for a business is that, I know, I've been self employed), but it is being delieved to my door:2thumbsup tomorrow having only struck the deal on Wednesday, then sending the details back to them Thursday Night and they had only got that today! But wait there is more. They also replaced the rear tyre with a new one (and they were only selling the bike on behalf of the owner) and filled the tank. But the best bit of all is that They have thrown a pair of ticket for the Wanganui Boxing Day Street Races  I am Sooo Stoked. THANKS DUDES.

Similar thing happened to me on a right hander on the Akar's 2 weekends ago. Hit the gravel whilst still on a lean. Front end moved sideways straight into a concrete culvart at 85k. 1 sec later, hit the pipe at the end and I applied for my pilots licence.
Good gear saved the day and I walked away with nothing wrong. Can't say the same for the bike. $14,300 to repair. :gob:

Good to hear your ok. Enjoy the new ride. Got to go now as the insurance have paid out and I NEED to go shopping.:woohoo:

Good to hear you (and Hawkeye too!) are OK. Shame the bikes are toast, but hey - they're only machines.
All the best for your new ride, and good for you Doug giving credit to all the great people who kindly helped you out. :niceone:

Hawkeye - hope you find a great replacement soon.

Well the new bike now has a name:
Bagheera (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bagheera)
She been purring away nicely (NB: In the animated Russian version Adventures of Mowgli (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adventures_of_Mowgli) Bagheera is portrayed as female).
As a side note I prefur the orginal Rudyard Kipling (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudyard_Kipling)'s Mowgli (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mowgli) Stories.
