"One success has been GM's effort to sell Hummer. The brand is going to Chinese heavy equipment maker Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Corp."

That's the problem with minor manufacturers being bought up by the big guys - the small companies they bought just for the name tend to disapear.

Rover was an accident waiting to happen. And then it did!

Crap cars, crap company. Directors did well with their personal pension funds.

I used to do business with them. IMO a complete bunch of idiots.

I'd be surprised if the 11th hour doesn't see Saab being snapped up and returning to the market in some form. Nice one GM!

Nothing screams out "I've got an incredibly small penis" more than a hummer, they actually make a harley rider resplendent in chaps look straight, is there any truth to the rumours gixeracer drives one?

i'd be surprised if that happens... There hasnt been a bespoke Saab since the 900 series that was killed off in the early 90's. Since then all models have all been based on Opel platforms such as the Vectra, and tbh, havent been that good.

I will miss the beautiful seats, the blackout instrument binnacle, and the ignition by the handbrake, but otherwise it is no great loss - BMW, Volvo, Audi and even VW, just do it better.

It's a shame. I like Saabs too.

As for Hummer? Not my cup of tea but, y'know, whatever floats your boat.

I had a 900 Turbo, brilliant car. A great fun thing to do when people asked to borrow it was not to tell them where the ignition key goes and watch the mayhem as they try to start it.
