I have now been sitting in the office for just over 1 hour and no one has turned up yet. Beginning to wonder if I just left if anyone would notice....

Have to say that it was a great ride in to work today traffic-wise though! Fingers crossed that the traffic is just as light around lunchtime when I leave!

Yes. They have sparkling wine and strawberries with dipping chocolate for the suckers who turn up. Now, if only I could get motivated to get dressed and actually turn up.

Yeah, I'm at work, but hardly anyone else is, as it was the company 'do' last night (which I didn't attend because I'm a disaffected employee, my boss is a coont, there's a group of "the golden elite' who get preferential treatment, my last Performance Assessment was the very worst in my working career (in fact, my only bad one), and i hate everyone) and I'm going to run amock today with a teaspoon and beat everyone to death.
Phew!! Glad I got that off my chest.

yesterday, I had to scrub down 4 giant, wheelie rubbish bins with over a years worth of caked on gunge,..... my little arms couldnt quite reach the bottom so, I had to lean my whole upper body in there to reach the bottom. after a few minutes of inhaling the bleach fumes I had to come up for air. My eyes where burning and I nearly vomited a few times.
Give me an office job any day.

Still got a GST return to complete, wrap a few gifts, fight the hordes at the supermarket....
I'd rather be at my paid job...it's much easier!

Hopefully that'll mean there'll be bugger all for Mrs Oakie to do in that regard when she gets home from work tonight.

When I say I'm working, it's more like I'm "at work" but, thank fuck, the stupidness of project cargo has dissipated into nothing but a rememberance of two weeks working till cunting 23:30.

In fact, the girls are in the lunch room right now putting together a feed, the Steinlagers are on ice and the day's almost over.

I freakin LOVE working Christmas eve :D

Yup, I'm working. Self employed & burdened with multiple personalities. The boss would'nt let me take today off, said I already had 2 days off in six months, 2 too many. Bloody bully.
Oh well, everybody is happy, hungover, relieved that it's almost the BIG day!
I'm not wearing a f*****g Santa hat either, my cross dressing personality has been gagged & bound after they wrapped the pressies.
Finish at 9 tonight & then have a couple of cold ones while I wait for the fat one to arrive.

I finally got to knock off at 3pm, which pissed me off mightily, as I started early, and didn't have lunch. Most of the managers either didn't turn up at all, or left early, or put in a token effort. Those of us who have to fill out timesheets were not so favoured. My boss only let me go home because he wanted to go himself.

Then when I got home, my real boss had chores for me to do too: pack up my crap, fix the vacuum cleaner, blah blah blah. Here I am at 5:30 only just now settling down with a celebratory/refreshmentory Coopers. 'Bout time, I reckon. :2thumbsup

Well! I'd hafta say, that is some ride. Nothing much straight or level in there and some of the most scenic country I have seen in a while. Not much traffic at all - apart from SH3 on the way back.

The section from Waikawau all the way round to Pio Pio is total magic - twisty, but not so tight or narrow that you can't see where you're going, so no real need to be overly cautious. Few stray stock on the road though, mostly back closer to Marakopa...oh and several metal dumps on the side of the road with loose metal spilled across the seal. Some of these are in long corners so need to be watched.

The early part of Mangatoa Road that is unsealed (12.3km) is not too bad although today there was metal spread all across it - no "dry" tracks to ride. Not too scary though. Quite a lot of cliff spillage across the road in several places as well but easily visible - only had two "step-outs" of the back wheel and both minor.

All up took me 5 hours, including about four stops along the way and getting lost once...(turned right to Taharoa instead of Marakopa...). Just made it on one tank of gas - warning light on solid for the last 20 km...

Can highly recommend this ride.
