Hi
nice to find a forum, I have an issue. I very recently bought myself an 03 yamaha yz125 having come from a mountain bike background I was instantly sold! got 4 rides in in the first week! however come the 17th of this month (day 5 of ownership and my birthday!) my 89 mitsi l200 double cab ute and yz where stolen from outside my house. The ute has since been found in reasonable condition in Newtown here in wellington. I would greatly appreciate help in finding my bike! I would gaurentee you be anonymus if you where to retun it...if you happen to read this...can also sort reward for helping us out :)
Otherwise anyone that knows anything or hears anything in the area help finding my bike would be great!
difining features are red grips, fat bars, rear gaurd cut crooked (not by me) front gaurd X stiched with zip ties on each side, and the shok feels poo as...oh and also play in main pivot.
thanks for any feedback!
can get hold of me ANY time with info on 027 7526070
thanks again
Nathan

Oh man, that sucks, and on your birthday!
Good luck locating it.
Have you tried driving around where the UTE was found? Perhaps it was dumped in the area. Behind a tree or something.

Yeah see if you can get any from the previous owner. The cut rear guard could be a easy spot for someone though.
Hope you get it back mate.

First off Natedwag, welcome to the madhouse.
Second, Belated Happy Birthday
Third, Merry Xmas
Fourth, Sorry to hear about the bike. That stinks, especially on your birthday.
I don't think you will find the thieving gutter dwellers on here. The members of KB are fine upstanding pillars of the community and would never stoop that low. :bs: (well most of them anyway - there are one or two I'm not sure about :msn-wink:).
Will keep an eye out in my area. Hope you get it sorted soon. Just don't expect too much.

Bummer about the bike, hop you get lucky and find it.
Some basics on bike security.
1, when not riding keep your bike out of the view of the public.
2, Keep bike locked up with a chain and or wire rope and good quality lock when not riding, this includes when bike is on trailers or utes or vans, and also in the shead, lock it to some thing very solid. also use a hardend chain, if using chain, worth the extra cost.
3, insurance, if some one realy wants to pinch your bike, then not even fort knox will secure it, its a case of what is your bike worth to you?.
4, Get your bike micro dotted with a serial number, that is regerstered on a data base, may not stop the bike being stolen, but may make a theif think twice, if stealing to order, or for parts.
I have A Master Lock python I carry on my bike it is a plastic coated steel wire rope type lock, about 5 meters long that I wind through my bike and around some thing solid, I normaly pass it through the frame and through one wheel, though both is good if possible, the Idea is to make my bike look to difficult to steal, so the bike theif will look else where.

That sucks man.
I want to insure my bike but I'm having trouble finding someone who will insure an under 25 learner.
