14th to 16th November, Auckland Showground's Greenlane, $16 Adult

Hi All

So who's going to look at all the things we can't afford to buy. Some great prizes this year even a trip in a MIG-25, (not sure if I would trust the Russian maintance!!)

Should be good but can't see any of the bike manufactures in the exhibitors list??

cheers

BB Toys changed very little over the past two years. Red baron had a stall but nothing new was displayed. I'll give it a miss this year and maybe try next year in the hope that they actually have some new stuff to see. The new cars are ok but complete lack of new bikes (B King was the notable exception)

You think they would get betta at it with practice - but each year has gotten worse than the last

I've never been. Never seen the point in paying someone $16 to spend 2hours in line before spending 3 hours window shopping for things I can't afford..... now if I won lotto.....

My sentiments exactly. I've seen the cost of going to these trade shows creep up over the years and I don't see why the public should have to pay for the privilege of being subjected to distributors' and retailers' hard and soft sells. Perhaps they think an admission charge keeps the riff-raff out, but I'm sure it puts off a lot of people like myself who are potential customers. Admission charge + parking hassles + long queues = why bother?

The Hamilton Motor Show is much better IMO.
(although they do gets worse every year as well)

Are they getting worse or are our expectations just getting higher? *one raised eyebrow*

Well, I’ve just come back from BBT and there are NO BIKESTANDS. <img src="/forums/images/smilies/argh.gif" valign="top"> There a some bikes there part of other displays, but nothing you can’t see on a KB ride out.

The show girlies this year are top notch. :p Much improved over last year and there’s lots of ‘em.

And of course lots of cars *yawn* and digital stuff.

That's dead right, save your $16 for gas. Although there is a stand for Dreamwheels, a kind of timeshare for bikes. I don't have all the details, but they have a 999 an RSV, etc. It's something around $70 per week and a $2000 bond if you go splat. I'll pass.

God Dammit :angry2: It can be shitty living in a small country sometimes. This is what we should have seen at BBT.
