View Full Version : Queen St, Auckland - 30Km/h limit

A couple of weeks back now, I got pulled over on Queen St after taking off from the lights rather quickly. The officer reckons I got to maybe 70 but I think I hit 62-65 tops, no matter. Anyway the motorcycle officer that pulled me over was a very top chap, he mentioned that I did take off to quick and in the 30K zone could well have lost my license. However he also stated that the marking/signage in the area were extremely poor and that not many people knew or could see the speed limit. So let me off with my new found knowledge and we had a chat about the BMW he was on.

So, all in all a good look for the police in this instance (which is prob 95% of time anyway) and be careful on Queen St, it's a speed trap for motorists now!

What the hell were you thinking.
It's summer and the skirts are short and the tops are tight.
20. max.

Doesn't night time on Queen St mean that the tops are even tighter and the skirts even shorter? Boob tubes and belts no? :niceone:

perhaps

but the arses are wider, the gender is suspect and at 20 kmh the smell factor comes into play

You didn't know the limit on Queen Street is 30km/h? It's been that for almost a year now.

Yip we only got three roundabouts and no lights down here. I will just stick to country roads from now on i think.

Auckland traffic and roading is real simple.

If it looks like you should go right go straight cos your not allowed to turn right.
If it looks like you should go left go right because the left would be the wrong way down a one way.
If it looks like you should go straight ahead your on the wrong road take the next left.

Auckland city planners do not follow the civic conventions of any other location.
Problem is it is all a bit piecemeal.

One bit gets clogged so they maximise traffic flow for that 100m and fuck the rest of the city.

The next bit gets clogged and so on.

It is not uncommon to find routes your used to taking are suddenly one way or still one way but now in the other direction or that the only clearway ahead is for buses only.

You are wasting your petrol showing off to the homeless?
