View Full Version : What more can a poor boy do?

With the recent closure of my dealer (SFI Motorcycles in Takanini) and no replacement Victory dealer yet opening (and wild rumours abound) I am forced to do something I have not done in nearly 2 years, browse strange motorcycle shops.

I had a first foray on Christmas Eve when I went to Motomail and picked up an unexpectedly large amount of new gear. I could kid myself into thinking that it was just an accessory shop though, scooters are small enough that I could slide my gaze over them without a twitch.

Today however, the beast of browsing must be fed and I find myself tryng to find places where I can soothe my pangs and whilst not feeling like a large, square, black peg in a small, multi-dayglo-coloured hole.

*shudder*

Apart from the *un-nameable* in Khyber Pass, which sends out an attractive force not unlike the giant black hole at the centre of the galaxy, where can a poor cruiser boy go to get his fix?

Cycletreads on Barry's Point Road is a good place to get most things motorbike, and they are real friendly and helpful too.

I think you will find plenty of places around that would be able to help you with your needs :)

Cannot say I particularly noticed SFI disappearing... Last time I went past, they still had all the usual stuff outside. Mind you, Takanini seems an odd place for a bike dealership, and there was another (Yamaha?) dealership across the road that lasted a very short time.
Broaden your horizons, and change your self chosen "peg" shape, alternatively, give in and feel the pull of the *un-nameable*

Their last day was Christmas Eve.

I can see loud colours in my future

*sigh*

Just visit Barrys Porint Road in Takapuna. There are several bike shops there. You can go from one to the other in walking distance.

Also check out motorcycle shops in Auckland in the Wiki:
