Anyone seen this? Bit dark. Set in the Spanish Civil War well at the end of it.

Yeah cool movie. Kinda Inglourious Basterds meets Alice in Wonderland.

Saw it at the cinema, good movie. I was surprised to find out that the same director directed Hell Boy.

I had mixed feelings about it. On one level the fantasy set alongside the brutality of the civil war was a bit off putting for my tasts. The son getting killed and the torture scene I found a bit gory. Still all in all one of the better movies I've seen in a long time.

If you liked that check out Everything is Illuminated (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0404030/).

Another dark movie singularly lacking in redemption for the protagonists.

But's it's REAL heavy duty...'Martyrs'. It's French...and fantastic. But be warned.

It is brutal. Great movie.

If you liked that...try the British horror...'Mum & Dad'. Great, but wrong on so many levels.
