Don't think there is one for Hawkes Bay, so if you are keen to play, here goes:

Rules are easy...

#1 - Find the tag and reproduce the photo (as best as possible). The first person to post a found tag gets to place the next tag. If you get a tag, but somebody else posts their picture first, you lose.

#2 - Take the tag to a new location(location to remain in "host area"), get the photo and post it here. Give a few hints so the next person can figure out where the tag is located. Try to place the tags in interesting locations, maybe a bit of history that can be found down some nice twisties.

#3 - Tag must be a) findable and b) may be placed on a dirt road if a street bike can make it. Maintained gravel is OK, but make sure to let folks know that gravel is required to get to your tag. We don't want to exclude those who don't like to get dirty.

#4 - File photos are NOT permitted. You gotta ride to play this game.

#5 - Your bike has to be in the TAG picture

I had an awesome ride out along the 50 to the Sawyers Arms Hotel and Cafe early this morning.

Hooked onto a rabbit just after the Chook n Filly who set sail at a tad over warp 1.2 running interference :Police: and swept the road clean for me all the way through to the destination....
Who said cagers dont have there uses? :whistle:

The breeze is picking up and is quite strong in places... had me over the wrong side of the chalk on a couple of occasions. Guess that'll teach me for riding slower than the wind :msn-wink:

I'll post another tag this afternoon... gotta getsome Honey Do's completed or I might not be getting any further leave this week.

An awesome road to ride... dont believe there is a straight section anywhere on it. Had the bullys footbords scraping several times.

Watch the corners as they tend to close down on you more than you think.

Road is sealed and in good condition all the way to the location except for the last 50 meters which is a flat grass track easily negotiated.

Take a Picnic.

And have fun.

I was begining to think I'd have to post a pic of the C50T outside the local Cafe. :shutup:

My old man was on the Rabbit Board for the Waimarama area in the 60's and 70's.... used to go out with him on heaps of night shoots all over this area.

One night we shot a 45 pound eel that was over 6 feet long. He was just below the falls on the Mareatotra stream. We smoked him up and had eel sandwiches for school for ages after that.

Mohi Bush is an awesome place for a picnic and a walk...... awesome road to ride too.

The Pukeora Hill Road was the state highway......... untill P38 turned up in 1984 and helped push a new road around the bottom and through the cutting that is ....:devil2:

Apparently it was going to save this country millions $$$$ a year in fuel just by cutting out the climb over Pukeora.

Nothing really. I knew it wasn't near Napier because of the sand so I guessed it was south of Hastings. I knew it wasn't Ocean or Waimarama because I was just out there today. so thought it had too be south of them. It was actually the third beach I looked at on Google Maps. Then I looked for that tree and the road signs.

When he was in HB helping me with the MX Holiday Programme he wanted to go and do this tag. I told him I knew where it was and would take him there. But we just never had the time. So Iain, this is for you mate.

Tuki Tuki Road looking south over Tuki Tuki river. This has to be one of my most fav roads in HB. Sadly it only takes a few minutes to complete.

Remember when I first got keen on a Corvette and this girl I knew told me that one reason they were fast was that they are light as the body is fibreglass. I did not believe her! But it killed my interest in the car as no way was I gonna have a car that was made like a toy...

I am travelling up to Auckland for MX with my youngest this w/e (King Of The North), but should have a spare minute today or tomorrow morning to get that tag and provide curly with something that keeps him guessing...

So I was all set to take the tag today. Just needed to go for a ride down Middle Rd and then come back. But my drive shaft crapped out in a big way and the bike was transported back in a van from Waipawa. So now a shaft rebuild (and also the gearbox while I am in the area as the 2'nd gear jumps out) is needed. Not sure when I can get this done, probably before end of July. But all well, have other bikes to use, so will try and grab the tag in the week.

It is indeed mate, (apart from all those on road expenses ;)) It's never really been off the road for any length of time.
I'm well impressed with how it's handling now, it's like I took 10 years of it's age!!
Just wish I could put it on the plane and take it everywhere I travel, but i suppose it will last a bit longer as a garage queen
Oh well at least I have the tag-o-rama to look forward to when i'm at home next :2thumbsup
