motocross bikes do not need sidestands,
the rmx450 will make a pretty good motard bike with a pipe, 94mph on the standard gearing

I don't think that're all that tall...certainly no more so than my 2010 RMZ450.
As you know...they'll settle on their suspension after a couple of rides

I think the 2010 RMZ450 is around 53-54 real wheel. It's certainly by FAR the fastest 450 I've ridden. Way faster than my K8 (the first injected one). More is better for road racing/motard racing. I'm sure with a good muffler and a bit of mapping the thing would go nuts.

RW Hp isnt import it how wide hp range is. CRF's have been getting less peak power over the past couple years but the power range has gotten alot broader so that means more speed and less effort to keep the bike in the power spot in a race. Im told the new YZF450 makes the most power after last years reviews they said it was to slow this year all reviews have said its to much now.
Ive always been a honda man every thing else feel strange to ride.

Rear wheel HP (or torque actually) is EVERYTHING if you're racing on tar though.
BUT...all of the modern 450's are that good it doesn't really matter which one you choose to ride.

anyone want to write up there impression of the RMX450, how it fairs, as an enduro/trail and or, how it would go on an MX track.
not that I can afford one, but be nice too know.

I haven't had the chance to ride ours yet...but sounds like Scott has a few hours on one under his belt!
I'll certainly say something when I have ridden it!

Had they removed all of the restrictors from the bike do you know?

mine has been uncorked, peashooter removed from exhaust and throttle restriction opened. Tryed to be a bit gentle due to running in but like a good 450 it has plenty there.

I guess if the price is right then it's worth going for but, having had quite a few hours on the RM450 ( 07 ), KTM525(04) and a squirt last weekend on an 06 YZ450, the 4T's leave me a bit cold, too much noise and a little heavy. Good fun though but I'll stick with my big Green KX5....quieter, faster and lighter.
The Old School geometry on the 500 is very noticeable I must admit, ditto the brakes . Did I mention the awful noise the big 4T's make ?
KX500 and, Discretion is always the better part of valour ....

Hate to tell you this mate...but there's no way a KX500 is faster. I've owned several...and even geared to the moon for road racing they're not quicker than an RMZ450. Ask Anthony Bradford.
Vibrate a shitload more too.

No argument mate, I've been riding/racing 500's for a while but I'll accept your 450 is quicker than my E16 '04 KX500 . The Math tells me different and I've been there too , sounds like your yellow 450 is quicker and lighter than a 100kg dry and 65 + Hp two-stoke 500 so......you win ! Have a good night

Your E16 is the same old KX500 as an E1. And while a 500 2 stroke is busy digging a trench, a 450 4 stroke is hooking up and fucking off. Proof on the tar? I was 1 & 1/2 seconds faster round Wanganui on my 4 speed K5 RMZ than I was on my KX500E6. Would be way faster again on my 2010 RMZ as it's way quicker than my K5 was. But hey...what would I or the stop watch know eh?
