One could probably spend more on a spark plug

Easily, the proper sparkplug for my TZ250GP engine was about $125

Although for a AX100 I think they got tucked

It's not a race bike so I don't see why a $5 NGK plug won't be fine in it.

I think I would rather have the spark plug than the bike.

$80 for a racebike spark plug would not be an issue.

$80 for a $5 spark plug on an old bike that has seen better days would make me want to clean up the old one and make it last longer.

Preety bargain I think. Just get a new $5 NGK spark plug and resell by raising the price by $80.
