MTB trails in Tauranga?

Has anyone been mountain biking in Tauranga lately? Worth the trip from Taupo or is the redwoods in Rotorua as good as it gets?
I'm into cross country more than hardcore down hill :safteyfirst:

Went and had a look at Oropi Grove but wasn't hugely impressed, mind you that was a year or five ago.
Redwoods is probably still the premier park.
