Thought this might give you all a laugh.. especially p.dath!!!
I'm about 80% through on the shaft polish for my Beemer (on the way overdue road to getting it back on the... Road). Which means I am 80% of 50% through as I have the diff to polish as well.
You probably all know the story... BMW put some sort of nuclear paint onto these things that even my usual engineering shop couldn't remove.. so had to do it manually... etc .etc.etc cue .. months of slack arse part time work.
So here is what a beavering metal polisher looks like after a few hours on the polishing wheel.
