At last - it's settled, Biff Bird Mk I has been written of as the cost to repair it exceeded 60% of it's estimated value. So as of this Friday I'll have a spanking new black Black Bird. Wooohooo (have I said that already).

Now all I need to do is buy a new double bubble & clear indicators and I'm all sexed up again. :yes:

Yep - an '05. It's shiny black with metallic gold fleck in the paint.

I've got a Keyless Givi setup fitted to the remains of the Blue Bird. Although I snapped off one of the racks indicators during my bin. So I'll swap the Givi luggage rack over to the new bike and get the indicator fixed. This means painting my top box and panniers though. Which is a bit of a bummer, as the paint is unlikely to match perfectly. We'll see.

It was kinda weird getting back on a back after a mere 6 weeks off the road. I felt a little rusty. I can only imagine what it's like after several years off and getting back in to biking.

Crack of dawn (nice girl) tomorrow I'm back off to Casbolts in order to strip Biff Bird Mk I of the various add-ons she's wearing. Then she's off the great auctioneers in the sky.

It'll be a sad day. I kinda liked the ole girl.
