Wanted GSX400/450/500 ENGINE

My partner has blown the engine in her 82 Suzuki GSX400L, right in the middle of riding season!
Am desperately seeking a replacement motor, any of the 400/450/500 twin DOHC engines will fit.

The wrecker in ngaruawahia has a GS500 engine for $1000.00 not sure i you want to pay that much though

Maybe the engine is not completely toasted? Are you sure its not easily fixable?

Failing that, maybe time to replace it?

Is there any chance of buying the crankshaft off you? If it's not the part destroyed?
