Hi All - I'll need to go into the Dominion on Thursday morning for the notice to be in the Friday paper. So please vote before the end of Wednesday.
1)Some of us never met Sam in person; others had the privilege of meeting and riding with him. We stretch from the bottom of the South Island to the top of the North Island, as well as some across the globe and we will mourn the loss of this bright young rider.
2)Sam will be remembered for his happy smiles, charismatic loving approach to the world and his inextinguishable drive. He will be missed by those who met him and those who didn’t have that privilege.
3)Sam was a special guy and a special rider. He had a short yet full life and touched the hearts of many. Riders from the top of the North Island to the bottom of the South Island and around the globe will be mourning his passing.
Regardless of which notice we choose I thought I would entitle it Farewell Flyin' and end it with Until we ride again: your Kiwi Biker friends. www.kiwibiker.co.nz
Any grammatical corrections that need to be made please let me know.
Btw - if you recognise some of the wording it's b/c MrCSL & I took it from what people had posted about Sam.

I would say #2. The others kinda make it seem more about us than him. Just my thoughts on it so don't take offence.
None taken, that's the whole reason we wrote a few. Thanks for your opinion.
Could we just change this bit to .. mourning his passing... or some such.. then it is more about him than us. the rest of it I like and number 3 has my vote.
I'd agree with the change, its not about us IMO.

Farewell Flyin
Sam was a special guy and a special rider. He had a short yet full life and touched the hearts of many. Riders from the top of the North Island to the bottom of the South Island will be mourning his passing.
Until we ride again: your Kiwi Biker family

I've changed the wording in # 3 as suggested by Speed Medic and I've also changed family to friends, as suggested by XJ/Frosty.
What do people think about Waylanders suggestion of having Flyin's signature there as well - not sure about it myself.

I like the way people have taken the wording, so just to add my agreement to that. As for his sig; hmmm. Not sure, I don't know that it's right for the notice in the paper- too easily read as a direct reference to his death, I'm thinking. Sorry not to be more articulate. But it might be fitting to have in the online memorial if that happens..?
I also like #3. BUT - KBers are all over the world. Could the 'top to bottom' be changed to accommodate the offshore members?

I'm actually going to lodge it tonight, as I have a 9am meeting tomorrow. Clearly go with #3 the way it is now.
I won't be back online now so if you have a really strong opposition to the way #3 is owrded now then you'll have to text or call me 027 -4618636.

Not too sure about that. Puts it a bit back to being about us.
But it's from us.

Ok, apparently the Dom have very strict rules when lodging a death notice. So it will begin with Sam's name (Langham, Samuel) and then our message.
Cheers all.

[QUOTE=Waylander]I also think adding his sig line would be good.
"The world stands aside to let anyone pass who knows where he is going" Sam aka Flyin [QUOTE] And cred to Waylander, the bit I have emboldened is his idea. A very respectful thing to do that, add in something that Sam wrote that is applicable even in his own passing from this life.
I hope you all agree and endorse this addition by posting again with a title something like "let's hear it from Sam".
Bless you brothers and sisters, Amen. RW

She also posted that a little while ago. Thanks anyway.
Sorry guys - I didn't get any feed back about adding the signature & no-one contacted me, apart from RW to give an opinion.

"The world stands aside to let anyone pass who knows where he is going...."
I could be wrong though
Definately not. Someone did not stand aside. The thought was right Waylander but considering what happened................sorry NO.
Skyryder
Thanks for doing that CSL.
