There are some clowns in my street, that have been riding up and down the street, one on a CRF50 looks mid 2000 model, another on a early looking YZ250, plus the odd mini chopper and pit bike and thats just been today.
when the cops come round they disappear, what can you do, they got to be stolen but one has to be careful, so just incase, some one may know someone whos missing a bike. just let me know and I will check it out.
sorry have been advise bike is a WR200 early 90's not YZ250 as posted.

Nice rooted rear shock.
The rear shock's gone?
I thought it was sagging due to the pie eating rider.

Yup.. Keep a bloody good eye on them.
GENERALLY people who own bikes like that don't rap up and down the street on them for too long.
They realise the running costs are high, and prefer to take their nice expencive tyres to a surface much more suited... and FUN than a boring old street.
I do get the odd boy go past here on the back wheel, but at least he would be wearing a $300 shirt that has FOX of something written on it... even if sans helmet!
Again people who own a motocrosser wouldn't ride it in their dress jeans and jacket with a cap! Realising fully that the cap will only last to 3rd gear.
Call the police, and get then to come and have a chat. At the very least they should be spoken to about riding a non-registered bike on the road.

Good on ya mate, If more people took your lead maybe more bike thiefs would be caught (even if these guys are innocent - Still been worthwhile)
Well done mate..

take a pic and post it up it could be stolen, yah just don't know, maybe someone may recognise it, not sure about showing ones face for legal reasons, not at this point because its all just speculation at the mo.
I will take pics of the other bikes if I see them around in the next few days.
be good if others would do like wise, if they see the same sort of thing.

Fucked off, thats what. No rego, no wof, wheelie, thats over a grand in fines and some serious demerits.
By all means take a photo and alert the fuzz to suspicious stuff, but live-and-let-live on the street antics please - we all do it.

Piss off! No we dont ALL do it! It's idiots like that pictured that give us all a bad name. Hooning around suburban streets on a trail bike with NO gear almost always = stolen bike! You wouldn't be saying live and let live if it was YOUR bike they had pinched and were thrashing around the streets...Dickwad! If I test my track bike around the industrial area, wearing all the gear, and get busted I'd say fair cop but it wouldn't be anyone dobbing me in.

Mate,
If the local bobby pulled me over for a non rego'd or Wofed Race bike on the road, I would have some very serious explaining to do to all the sponsors as to why we got the bike impounded.
That aside, if some other person in the hood got their hands on it, i would hope to hell the local bobby would be onto it ASAP, as in the wrong hands we would have a fatality.... Remembering it is deceptively fast!!!!
And no speedo to boot.
Yes, I have rapped around on non road legal bikes on the road.... But that was in the days when they didn't go missing every ten minutes. (and not going to say i have actually ridden a race bike on the open road in a public forum
If the character in the photo can prove legal ownership of the bike to the local bobby, then there is no worries is there?? Apart from the chat about the lid, rego, wof etc etc.....
Note: I use my personal situation as an example, and realise this bike may actually be a hack... BUT it IS Some body's bike. Not necessarily the guy who's riding it.... Could be a guy staying with him for the holidays... But I'm sure they can explain if legit.

A simple 800m slow ride from my place to the bush (complete gear) along the road cost me $200 for no rego, when I asked for a warning instead he informed me of the raftt of other fines he could give me, so i took the fine and pushed my bike home. Bad day.

Just came back from a nice little walk around the block, I got a rough idea where the young fellas that are riding the little Honda live now so will keep an ever watchfull eye on them, they were out side a house which the kids that live there are known for burglarys.
It was the first place we went to when my bike got flogged.

Or, is it just puffed up young adult males with to much time and energy on their hands, so for kicks they turn to petty crime.

Well Steve, there isn't really..... You are right. Doesn't really hurt anybody... BUT Point is, and I trust Pornstar is reading this, IF per sae I owned a $4000 KTM as an example, and went for a little ride down the street, and popped a mono through 3 gears and the Police man pulled me up and gave me a bit of a talking to I would be a little annoyed... Yes.
However, if same copper saw somebody hooning around on a KTM just like I owned, and i wasn't riding it... and though quickbuck is just doing some stunts up and down the street, i will leave him to it... Well I would be VERY upset.
See, the law works both ways.
Pornstar, yup, cost you $200, but wouldn't you be glad if Mr Policeman noticed if the person riding the bike wasn't you, and brought it back for you??
For what it's worh, the KTM 250SX scares the living daylights out of me! One of the bikes I ALWAYS put my lid on before doing stunts up and down the street (and it is actually in the system too).

There are two things here. Nicked bikes and nicked riders. I fully agree about the nicked bikes thing and being vigilant about that. No problems.
But when people are having fun with their own stuff, don't pot them to the fuzz. Remember when you were young. Leave them alone. Better still, go give them the thumbs up and have a j with them.

You are right doesn't hurt anyone....unless for some unforseen reason, you fall off, smack your head on the ground and either brain damage or die.
Then it does affect others. Ambo, hospital, ACC...ongoing care blah blah.
Your actions always cause some kind of on going flow, whether good or bad.
One should always think of the consequences first not later.

Let me explain slowly - the O.P. was NOT concerned so much with the riding as much as the fact said bike might be STOLEN.
A cop stopping the rider might just find out if it is indeed stolen so 'potting them to the fuzz' isn't just to spoil their 'fun' - and a cop giving an educational talk to him if he IS the owner or has really borrowed it (unlikely)l) might just save his fat hide from a world of hurt.
And if I saw that lardy-assed idjit wearing that sad 'homie' gear, with no helmet etc and riding like a dick in a built-up area I'd be onto him like a ton of bricks....

Steve Are you the same person that gave that young girl assholes for wanting to borrow a helmet - I think it was this thread actually-http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php/113938-Helmet-rental-please?highlight=borrow+helmet.
The law is the same for anyone. And I dont go pulling antics down the street on my dirt bike. That is plain showing off.
And the homie probably has no licence to attach any demerit points to either.
