About to start on a rare non-motorcycle job, but it's quite interesting.
I've been restoring the glass plate negatives just now...anyway story is here.

Excelent stuff! Are they Archies photo's,or stuff he collected over the years.I like the photo's of the tanks,they must of been really out of this world for them back then.And how about that tall waggon full of pigeons - communication was important eh?

I would of hated to be in the army back then - the uniform was horrible and the hat doesn't suit my face at all.

I don't think he took any of the original pics - he collected the negs and took some photos of photos pinned to a board also on glass plate.

The guy on the sea plane is also about to release a bird when you zoom in - some of the detail in the shots is amazing.

I'm not a hessian undergarment kinda guy either.

Dave - I have quite a few glass plate images of WWI in storage back in the UK. Beautiful things, although some of them are very graphic in a similar vein to the ones on your site.

If you feel that they may be of use let me know and I'll see what I can do.
