View Full Version : Baited by a Lamborghini...

Usual mundane commute home this afternoon, nice sunny weather pootling up the motorway. Watching for cops, watching speed kinda enjoying the sun and the ride home where a cold beer and a BBQ'd steak await my return.

Last few glances in my mirror have registered a wide low car moving in / out traffic. Within seconds a big green Lamborghini Diablo VT, Rego - RS, is right up my arse then pulls alongside me.

F**K ME the guy driving it was about 157 years old, grey hair wearing general old man type attire and a cap. Once alongside me gives a look over and floors the thing. I'm not really a car person but this thing looked and sounded awesome, the noise it made as it took off sounded like a 747.

Luckily for me I had anticipated this move and was already down 2 cogs in the box........... why am I even thinking about doing this????:angry2:

Quick burst and i think, Fuck it, home safe to beer, steak, kid and wife. (listed there in order of what first came into my head. Let him go.

Few K's he'd slowed right down to let me pass / catch up and tries the same trick again. Tempting but no thanks. Seeing the service station approaching i decide to pull off, be a pussy and fill up, grab a drink and get back into the frame of mind of enjoying a summer commute home. Far too tempting to stay on the M/Way with him and lose my license.

Moral of the story........................................

Well F All really. Made a change to riding and been baited by 19 year old kid with a MitsiUbaru big exhast GTi turbo'd look at my 15 year old suped up piece of shitmobile.

You old rich fucker with heaps of cash should have more sense. If i get caught I could not afford the same high profile lawyer to get me off a dangerous driving charge.

Car was heading into Hazzard anyway so he prob is a few $$$ lighter tonight. Nice car tho dude and thanks for the few seconds buzz when i thought about it.

Why? He's not got where he is by doing sensible things, has he? And besides if he gets fined - big deal. If he's told to walk, he'll get a chauffeur.

Exactly. But he can.

He might be old, grey and wearing a cap but he's getting to hoof around in a Lambo and, for whatever reason, you're not. He's probably going to go home, bang a few models, snort some coke then knock it on the head and call it a quiet night.

When you hear a Lambo or Ferrari light up you realise that all those children in Evos and WRXs are merely playing at sports cars.

As you say, a nice change from some tosser in a 4cyl jappa trying the same thing...

On two seperate occasions I've seen a Mclaren F1 driving down the motorway, don't think I could resist if he pulled up next to me, even though it would probably kill my Gixxer.

You can always have the satisfaction of knowing how much you paid for your bike vs. his car and the fact he will never understand nor get the thrill of leaning into a corner.

Until you come to some corners and you find out the guy in the Lambo can't drive.
I've been passed by one of these, only to out drive the tosser though the next set of bends -in an MX5

One day maybe i'll be that old fecker and will i bait bikes, boy racers and anything else on the road.

Oh yes...

In the meantime whist i can't afford one i'll continue to get my kicks on the track. Roll on next week for the ART

The Diablo is pretty much the last 'old-school' Lambo, before Audi made them more user friendly. I doubt a Diablo would be anyones daily driver.

Trick with these guys is to give them a blip to get there adrenlin running and as the lighs change just let them go an not make a race of it.

As you pull up the second time they can not help but look at you. They no you never made a race of it and they all cocky Just flip ya lid and mouth 'sucker.' Fucks them every time, even better with a chick in the car............ya made them look a dick. Only had occasion to do this once some clown with his new Porche and bimbo next to him. She was a bit of allright though.

I suspect that wasn't him. 07 is when it got the personalised plate - I'm guessing that's when the current owner bought it. Note it didn't have continuous WOFs in those early days either.

Good on 'im!

There was a stunning (new) black Ferrari in the parking lot of Bunnings, a week ago. Very nice indeed!!
Then I wondered why the driver was at a place like that! Surely s/he could afford someone to do their house maintenance!

Or was it a plumber getting supplies for the next weeks customers...

When I picked up my Thunderbird back in September, first ride out the shop, had about 10 kms on it and an old codger in a Chrysler 300C SRT8 lined me up at the lights. I had a laugh to myself & let him go as he smoked it off the line. Might be a different story now though.

Thats the trouble with six figure priced cars, its only the old buggers that can afford it! You do get the occasional young gun with heaps of cash, heirs and lottery winners etc.

Years ago in the south of France heading out of a village, a perfect ribbon of tarmac ahead of us (me and a mate on near identical ZX9R B1's) came up behind a young guy in Porche Carrera 4. He checked his mirror, waited untill we were outside the village, I saw his hand go for the gear stick, I was ready....bike already sitting at 8k in 2nd in anticipation then he floored it.....the car sank about two inches on its suspension, howled and took off. I snapped the throttle, hunched over the tank, front tyre about a foot of the deck.........third, more of the same.....only faster, fourth, there is nothing in it!! I'd never come across a car that could hold station with a quick bike (well quick back then any way) we got upto 150 mph before sense took over. Yep a big buzz was had by all. The best bit was meeting up with him in the que for the ferry back to pomy land......he got the same buzz we did, he was one of those stock brokers from the city, heaps of cash and loved spending it.

Oh well older and wiser now.....good on ya for resisting the urge to give him a run for his money :)

I'm sure Bikes like the 09 CBR1000RR,R1,GSXR1000 K9 etc would flog one of those on a straight and round a corner,if ridden by a skilled rider.

Going on this data, you would have destroyed him in a drag race....

HP Torque Quarter Mile Time.
Ninja ZX-9R ('98) 132.8 @ 11,250 69.9 @ 9000 10.44 @ 133.6
Ninja ZX-9R ('00) 131.4 @ 10,500 71.7 @ 9000 10.26 @ 133.9
Ninja ZX-9R ('01) 128.1 @ 11,250 69.9 @ 9000 10.34 @ 135.9
Ninja ZX-9R ('02) 125.0 @ 10,250 67.5 @ 9500 10.16 @ 138.3

A 99 Diablo does a quarter mile in around 12.4 seconds..

Classic.....so true as well.......but they are all fucking cages at the end of the day and driving a Lambo, Hambo, Rambo or whatever the fuck they call them does not make your willy bigger.......unless you glue it to the exhaust pipe, tie yourself to a lamp post and let the fucker drive off......now that would make your willy bigger, eh.......

Reminds me of the joke about the Irishman who shagged a Princess, he got his todger stuck in the exhaust.....geddit, geddit.......fack, sorry...

Diablo would get eaten by any decent bike 600cc+, search up 'fulltilitlife' on youtube, heaps of car v bike, bike v bike, and car v car roll races(done properly)....

Lambo's arent actually that fast, well compared to bikes atleast... maybe top end but anything sub 180 odd mph, no chance. Seen many a car and bike run at the drags and raced plenty to know.

All about trap speed/acceleration, look at diff between 100-200kmh....
Something even 'fast' cars lack compared to bikes.

Silly old fucker! Don't be tempted, by chasing him you're giving him what he wants, even if you beat him. I was overtaken by a punk in an old BMW 320i a few years ago en route to Napier from Taupo. I was on a CBR954RR and on a big trip. I thought of chasing him and showing him up, but thought better of it. Anyways I get around a bend and the highway patrol were writing him a ticket. I slowed down and made sure he saw me laughing! Classic!
