What is the name of this river and valley?

Connects Lake Gunn to Lake Te Anau?

Ahh found it - Cascade Creek - can't spot the valley name

Sure it's not the Hollyford River/Valley?

I can't see something going from being a 'river' in its upper reaches to a 'creek' after it passes through a lake. I suspect Cascade Creek is a small tributary.

Edit: Oops. No, definitely not that - the Hollyford goes the other way, out to sea on the West Coast, via Lake McKerrow

Its the Eglington Valley. Cascade creek is a tributary of the Eglington river.

This map:

http://www.fiordland.org.nz/Explore-Fiordland/Places-to-visit/Milford-Road.asp

suggests the Eglinton River.

See also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eglinton_River

Google maps seems pretty crap for natural features :(

OK - another one - how long is the Homer Tunnel?

http://www.ipenz.org.nz/Heritage/itemdetail.cfm?itemid=128 gives 2 answers ... 1240m or 4118 feet - which is 1255m :(
Another google result said 1200m.

I think you should go back with your tape measure :)

15m is a reasonable error in geography
