I love making lemon syrup from ours, and lemon honey, and lemon meringue pie, not to mention freshly sliced lemon for fish.
The lemon is right up there with the onion for mandatory every day use!

You aint lived mate, however I fell you may be pulling on my flabby beer tit when you say that.

Right, your lemonade mixture, stuck in the freezer for a while till ice cold (but not frozen) then poured over some Bombay Blue gin with a leaf of fresh mint and heaps of ice. Coulpe of them will drop a girls pants before you can say "tiffin"

Lemons go grrrreat in all sorts of things - off the top of my head ;

Lemon juice over salad, mashed spud or any veges.
Grated zest over icream (try grated frozen ginger root too).
Juice in Hollandaise and Bearnaise.
Juice mixed with sweetened plain yogurt over banana fritter with ice cream, grated ginger and zest, and icing sugar. (spectacular!)
Juice over deepfried crumbed schnitzel and mashed spud.. yarrrrrm.
Slice of lemon in your beer.

Basically just stick juice or zest over anything you can think of.

I commit citric acid genocide each time the mower gets near ours. You can actually her them screaming under the cutting deck, as the 48" blades slice the life out of them.
The cuts arn't surgically clean, more like the slash of a blunt cane knife, so they die in extreme agony .............................

Have you got a secret recipe for that as well?I just googled one, mate. It's basically the same, except you start off with white vinegar and tarragon, and boil that, let it cool and then whisk in the egg yolk and then proceed as for hollandaise.

Best you google a recipe though. I haven't made bearnaise for a while.

For people who like perrrrfectly cooked still-crunchy asparagus and beans, bearnaise is absolutely the bizo. Put some on a perfectly cooked pink-in-the-middle rump as well. Spectacular!

Watch out though, or soon you will be eating a pound of butter a week. :blink: Ooops.
