Well the bike is 90% back together, 1/2 an hour would do it. Weather forecast is looking ok, but c'mon this far out it's a lottery.

Any idea if it is normal Clockwise direction?

Hey, can someone please answer me this... If I leave my numberplate on the FXR will it pass scrutineering? The plate doesnt touch the ground when the bike is laid over...

That will pass and will make it easy for us to write you a ticket.
But imagine the weight saving if you removed it.

Overcast moderate breeze. Well until lunchtime, but it will change for the better before then. Besides Kaitoke has its own little micro-climate.

I'll be there tomorrow. Bucket just got a new straight through exhaust today and sounds mint. I'll be able to hear it now and hopefully it will have a bit more punch. I also put a new STRAIGHT (finally) front disk on and that feels much better. However I am probably going to need some help because the bike is still insanely hard to wheel around. The new bearings might already be shot (relatively new, done hardly any kms really) and I might need new and better spacers instead of the ones I made. Also I think the front master cylinder isn't releasing or whatever so the front pads don't return off the disk very well when I let go of the brake. I can get new bearings but I will need help/the right tools to take bearings out and put new ones in. Also I will need help with spacers (I think I have a mate who can do that) and I will need help with the master cylinder or advice. Whoever is there tomorrow, have a look at what I mean. It's what is making it so damn slow in a straight line. It used to be faster before I decided I was a mechanic.........

HISS!!

My squid suits not too bad, in fact its almost dry. In fact there were a shitload of karts there today but I wasnt going to pay $45 to go out there with just Hamish. In fact, Hamish and Malcolm were the only two "real men" that turned up today! ;) :wait:

Good for them - manly men that they are!

Personally I couldn't be fucked getting up at sparrowfart on a shite day to traipse out to Kaitoke and pay $45 for the privelage of watching karts go round and round for most of the day....but I am a pussy after all.

Rain seems to have stopped here...for now. fucking miserable shite summer so far

I was sooo excited to finally be able to 'put my issues' with early start and karts aside today and was totally amped to go out, until we got there!

Man did I feel like a winner riding down the motorway/through town wearing full leathers on the FXR though! I actualy went home to get changed before going to the supermarket!

We have had our summer, duh!

Oh well. I hate not racing. I was keen to race even in the wet conditions but having more than 1 or 2 other riders out there would be nice. I went home and sorted the front brake drag problem I have been having. Thanks to Fish who noticed what the problem most likely was. Just needed to space the front caliper inwards by a few mm. Now the bucket is running much faster!! FINALLY! Just need a new carb and I'm sorted

What the heck happened today?

It was supposed to be the first bucket race I'd ever seen. I was very excited, even with the rain. I was planning to get there by 9.30 but my friend that was supposed to join me didn't came so after half an hour of waiting I left without him.

I got at the track at 10 and there was no bucket. The guys with karts told me that "there were some bikes but they left". I ended up going over the takas and back in the rain just so I can say I've been riding at least even if I didn't get to see any buckets racing.

Str8 Jacket
17th January 2010, 13:22
The boys were scared of the wet track and there was no point only having 2 bikes out there so we decided not to waste the kart guys time....

What a bunch of useless excuses. I went out for a look and it was dry and not cold. I will have my bike back together for the next one hanging out to get back on the track. May even go to Roy's hill on the 7th if I can afford it.

Toughen up you lot, we live in wellington not California. If you don't go out in the rain you won't be doing much riding this year.

saxet
19th January 2010, 12:43
Well I've managed to rub my own nose in the fact that it's gonna be very hard to make a 125cc 2-smoke with 5 speed box competitive. TZ350 may prove me wrong yet
Many don't know I stated this game on a GS125, it wasn't fast, but the rules seem to favour a 150 4 stroke or well tuned 100cc 2-smoker. In my view.
