Ok so here's my reasoning behind this
1. must be in or around Chch to view and test ride.
2. between 3k and 4k, no more.
3. want a duel purpose bike.
4. must be 250cc

Which one would be the better bet, taking into account resale value, reliability, spares ect ect.
Have owned a CB750K and Z440 years ago in South Africa but want a bike to pass the license with.

TTR looks the best to me.
Looks like it's owed by a rural family, so mainly trail work, and lower sustained high speed than the urban XR, the Suzi is just plain fucking ugly n boring. MHO

I'd go the XR, bulletproof motor, very reliable. very popular, so the resale would be good. It looks to be well looked after.
The TT looks tidy as well, but the purple bits would put me off.
DR is .... ugly IMHO.

good luck
