What are the chances of taking a pic at the same spot?

Roger that...Mid afternoon then...

The other place ofthen photographed is the Eglington flats...the open grassy area about 4 km back toward Te Anau from the map reference you posted a few days back...definately a spectacular piece of road, but watch out for tourist drivers doing stoipd things like stopping in the middle of the road for photos or overtaking on blind corners etc.

Any grit left on the road from the winter?

Bit of dross from roadworks on the switchbacks Milford side, otherwise in good order.

The lupins on Eglington flats were the same colour as the graphics on the bike. Lot of pics.

Yes, those lupins are spectacular when they are out...The other good time of year is May when the autumn colours are out. Late in the afternoon sun, between the lake and Boyd creek. We will move back there in a few years...I hope.

I guess when you take as many pics as you do BD - then it was bound to happen. Still to have it in exactly the same place on the fly is pretty bloody impressive.
