Anyone know exactly how i can get hold of a lowering kit for a 04 636?
(Finally sold the ZXR and got my hands on the 636 :2thumbsup)
I'm not exactly a midget but i am tippy toeing when its stationary and its rather annoying not having my feet flat :(
Any info appreciated ;)
Edit: just googled "lowering kit+04 636"
came up with two good results

Unless you're ridiculously short, I recommend not lowering the bike at all. If you can't put both legs flat, put one foot on the rear brake and the other flat on the ground when you stop. I've been doing this since I started riding bigger bikes (2 years ago) and have never dropped a bike by slipping (However I did drop a bike by forgetting to put the sidestand down hehe)

you can get the bike lowered quite easily at any bike shop
the handling will change a little

Just got mine lowered about 4 weeks ago (also a 04, 636). I got it done from Mt Eden Motorcycles, they had to order in the links so took them about 2 weeks to get it in the country. All together cost me around $300 including labour. It was very very worth it though. Having both feet firmly planted on the groud really helps manuvouring the bike at lower speeds, especially pushing in and out of the garage. Also you will find the seating more comfortable as it is more upright and your balls aren't getting crushed at the tank. I weight about 70kg so the set up was fine, just got to watch out when you carry pillion.

Cheers guys,
breakaway, that's exactly what i have been doing so far , it works no problems except when i hhve to take a pillion :(.
Yeah, it needs a setup anyways, the difference between the last rider and me is >35kg's ( and he said the suspension was great for him ) do you know who Mt Eden got their parts from?
i weigh 64kg's/1.8 ish metres ,
haha its only been a few days mate but the balls are definitely suffering

im 1.8 an can touch the ground enough on the 04 636, just have to be carefull on gravel an trying to move backwards on slopes..you can always reduce the rear sag to give you a few extra mm's for your feet to ground better. (its set with not enough sag anyway on stock settings unless your a fat bastard)
im ok with the seat an tank, make sure you clench onto the tank with your thighs or feel wrath of the tank with the cock nock.
how are your guys hands /wrists / tingely fingers hah
