Accommodation, Ruapuna, SOT weekend?

Who can recommend a decent .... read " cheapish, clean, safe, quiet, possibly room to work on bike etc " .... motel, motorcamp (cabins) etc near to Ruapuna for the last weekend in Feb, SOT meeting for myself and my 11yr old son.

Hmm, come on .... surely some of you have stayed in motels or camp cabins nearby and can recommend them. Some places are a dive, others way to expensive, others with dodgy parking etc

the bella vista on the main rd to riccarton is good with off street and sheltered parking, rnd 100 bucks

avoid the yauldhurst like the plauge

I'm not sure what these two are like, but they're reasonably close to the track (10 to 15 mins)
