Geraldine to Christchurch

Ted is riding throughout NZ on Tour with a group of people. Ted Simon, of the riders "bible" Jupiter's Travels. www.jupitalia.com

This is a one off chance to meet with Ted, most likely he won't pass this way again (he's 79) and as the considered granddaddy of global motorcycle travelers who went around the world with no GPS, no cell phone, and no film crew, he has a story or 2 to tell!

Ride as a group to Geraldine to meet up with Ted’s tour party and have
lunch, then to escort Ted & his party back to Christchurch, as he leaves
New Zealand the next day.

“Let’s really get the numbers out there and give this guy a true spirited
KIWI send-off that he will never forget”

Meet at BP Rolleston Christchurch Saturday 23rd Jan 2010
9:15am - leave time - 9:30am

See Attached PDF.

Curious to hear how the ride went. A couple of us in Dunedin were privileged to tag along through the Otago section and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Evening

Well what a day, started out early and meet up with the other riders at BP Rollestone, 16 bikes in total, weather was bad, so many were put off riding in the rain. Long story short.. was an amazing day, what a guy, we are all pleased that we did the trip and escorted Ted back to Christchurch. Weather cleared to a dull day after lunch.. Ted is just amazing, I will remember this for the rest of my life.. we all got to know him well.. will be putting his speach up on YouTube and our web site so will advise the link later.. also you can see the photos taken on our web site http://www.ulysses.org.nz/canterbury/ under the photos link. Enjoy.
Cheers
