Howdy y'all, I'm actually a member since 2005, but stopped riding (and then checkin' in here) after I started working from home. It's amazing how comfortable you get in your little box of a house when you never have to leave it.
I moved to Chch, brought the bikes with me but they never got used, so I sold the GSXR750, kept the FXR150 for commuting if I ever needed to, never did though, rode it all of 3 times in 2 years just to get the wof's. Then this year I gave up working from home, a recession is the wrong time to go out contracting, so I'm an employee again and have got back into commuting on the bike. But after a week of it, the fixxer, however awesome round town, just feels wrong after 5 years riding, I'm afraid I'm not okay with looking like a moose riding a tricycle anymore.
So I test rode a DRZ400SM yesterday, and again this morning to double check before I put the deposit down on it. HELL YES!! Bugger track days, I'll just take the long way to work! So much fun to throw around, feels so much more solid and stable than any sports bike I've ridden, or at least I feel safer busting around on it, and it can foot it on the open road without needing a tail wind!! And it's a freakin' bargain at $8k at the moment.
So, enough rambling, hello again all, it's good to be back!!
