AMCC Club Championships Rounds 2 & 3 Pukekohe 12/13 Dec 2009
Sorry this report is so late, the run up to Xmas was a bit mad with work and bike preparation.
I was only riding the KTL 999S Ducati and the Anglo American M/C club 749R Ducati so it should have been an easy run, but a few clutch problems and chain adjuster failures were annoying and meant 2 DNF’s.
Having said that, we were lapping consistently at 59.50sec on the 999 and in the high 60.00sec on the 749 so we are making steady progress.
We won the F1 races until Chopper got his Suzuki 1000 sorted then had to settle for 2nd’s. I can make up for some of the horsepower deficit in the corners but 40 plus Hp is just too much.
The F2 races on the 749R were the highlights for me. Although we were still giving away 10kph on the straights I was lapping quicker than the Suzukis. When I did get into the lead I managed to pull away but getting there was hard work. The highlight was getting past 2 of them on the outside at Puke’s turn one (Shaun Harris was one of them).
