I asked my dealer about this and was told there couldn't be a problem with the mufflers as the importers put after-market cans on some models as an inducement. The dealer didn't think there was any problem with the PC either.
I certainly hope not as it's on the way...

p.c.u by that you are talking about a Power Comounder 3 ??? if so then yes I would think it would viod the warranty, as it ulters the fuel mix and timing etc.
A guy I know fitted one up to a new V11 Guzzi..... it seized on one cyl something it most likley wouldent have done stock. So I dont know how he got on but Im sure they dident accept the warranty.

As for pipes, if the dealer wanted to get picky then they could refuse, but highly unlikley as all open pipes will do is cause the bike too run a little leaner.

IMO a V2 needs pipes :D but a jap bike shouldent need a PC3 unless its a race bike and you are chasing every hp possible, as a general rule jap stuff is usually tuned as sweet as they can, unlike a Guzzi etc which do benifit from the PC3.

If it's still under warranty and the franchise dealers fits it, they then assume responsibility for the warranty. Unless they expressly say that the warranty is voided.

you pretty much have to add a p.c.u to a bike when adding new pipes,as for not doing much for a japper,well it gave me an extra 20hp.Kawasaki say that so long as a problem on a new bike is not directly caused by or from the p.c.u then they will still cover all warranty for the bike, as I hav a 2 year warranty on mine[the motorbike] Other companys may hav dif policy esp suzuki, whom seem very tight with there warrantys :ride:

My 1600 is a v.tvin,and a japper, by the way do u know why the p.c.u caused the cyl to sieze,they really should not hav an impact on that unless your revving the shit out of it,just courious :cold: :ride:

Na mate thats bollocks, you may get a rise in idel revs... so twek it down a bit, simple.
I dont know anyone who hes ever put a PCU on a bike just because they changed the pipes and all bikes I ride with have aftermarket pipes and they all run sweet.... including mine.

Well I did say above unless you are wanting extra hp..... but you can do that just by remapping the std PCU.
The advantage with a PC3 is they are compleatly retunable, but why bother unless you are racing the thing at sea level one day and 300m the next day.
I would expect that your type of bike would be restricted some what..... with a shit load of extra power there waiting to be unleashed with diferant tuning...... but mate its a cruser, how fast do ya want to take that 70k corner :msn-wink:
