:spudwave: (That's for those who are pleased to see me back).

:finger: (That's for those who gave me grief).

:whocares: (That's for those who are indifferent).

By the way (for those who give a FlyingRodent'sRectum - which won't be the last category) - I'm still mental, but I've sorted work out at least.

Rode my bike today for the first time in over a week, and was surprised at how much I was "off my game". I was riding well, but just didn't feel SuperAlert, so I was just cruising on the way to work.
And the VifFerraRi was running SOOOOOPER well today (apart from that old DangerDangerWillRobinsonFlashingFuelGaugeBar(FillU pQuickOrYou'llCrashAndDie) thingo, that was quickly rectified by a visit to the PurveyorOfDistillatedHydrocarbons. :D

Y'see, I invented me this new (NEW!! IMPROVED!! HIGHTECH!!) chain cleaning and erling device, and now my chain is SparklingClean and also WaxyAndSweetSmelling (gotta lurv that Spectro ChainWax.) Pictures and another boring blurb will follow shortlyish. So in combination with my lowered gearing, the gearchanges were so smooth as to be almost imperceptible. Schweeeeeeeeeeeet....

Not a moment too soon, by the look of it. I appear to have dropped off the bottom of the GoodReputationTable (does that mean I'm soon to appear in the BadRep one??) and I'm teetering dangerously on the edge of the MostProlificTimeWasters table as well.

Actually - weird goings-on on this site these days. Must be a reaction to what's being said in the anti-police thread? Mind you, there is some comfort to be had in the knowledge that there are still some opinionated, self-styled 'expert' wankers out there.

I thought you were a Big Cat. What's with the "Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek" ?
I know that song - my eldest (heavy metaller) son has it, and plays it often.:Punk: But I dunno who the drummer is. :spudwhat:
Come to that, I'm not sure who the band is; to me it's just that "song that Peter sticks on his/our stereo and plays loudly, from time to time". (Here I go and betray my ignorance of what my son listens to) Judas Priest? Magnum? Whitesnake?

Y'know, my sons surprise me though. I was driving #2's car this week, and I thought, "Man - that sounds like Jethro Tull", and it was! I know #1 likes 70's rock and metal (easy, coz he likes almost all music), but I'm so used to #2 playing some crappy hip-hop that I didn't really appreciate he actually has quite eclectic music tastes.

Damn you Jim#2 - now the bloody thing's stuck in mah heeed...

Musical diversions aside, Welcome back Vifferdude!

Glad to see ya back on the forum (tone of the neighbourhood's gone up already)

You'll soon reclaim your rightful places on the "Most Reputable" and "Least doing actual work" tables.

Anyone PM's suicide suggestions to ya, let me and LiasTZ know - the internet is not as "anonymous" as people think and that IP address resolves to a real computer and a real defective chair-to-keyboard interface somewhere... I'm sure we could resolve the addressing and remove the faulty component... :devil2:

Run to the Hills

Harris

White man came across the sea

Brought us pain and misery

Killed our tribes killed our creed

Took our game for his own need

We fought him hard we fought him well

Out on the plains we gave him hell

But many came too much for Cree

Oh will we ever be set free?

Riding through dustclouds and barren wastes

Galloping hard on the plains

Chasing the redskins back to their holes
Fighting them at their own game
Murder for freedom a stab in the back

Women and children and cowards attack

Run to the hills run for your lives

Run to the hills run for your lives

Soldier blue on the barren wastes

Hunting and killing their game

Raping the women and wasting the men

The only good Indians are tame

Selling them whisky and taking their gold

Enslaving the young and destroying the old

Run to the hills run for your lives

:spudwave: Welcome back.

You lowered your gearing too? I just did that this week, went back to the old rear sprocket (57 tooth as opposed to 55) which still has some life in it, and got a new aftermarket 16 tooth front sprocket ($8.50! and to think a genuine yamaha front woulda cost $70!). Still just getting used to it, but it seems to be an improvement.
Are you just joking about inventing a chain cleaning and erling device? If not, I'm looking forward to the pics.

Yeah, big improvement here - the VFR feels like it should have been geared like this to start with. Lotsa bikes are overgeared to meet sound regs etc., and gearing them down is one of the best and cheapest performance mods you can make.

I had the pleasure of watching Rob Trujillo play for Infectious Grooves/Cyco Myko from less than five feet away, and I can tell you, his technique is impeccible. But very one-dimensional.

As for Cliff Burton, he was okay, but you're letting sentimentality get in the way of logic there. If he had have lived longer, who knows... Plenty of better bass players. Phil Lynott, Geddy Lee, Jack Bruce, Doug Wimbish, Stanley Clarke, Bootsey Collins, Jaco Pastorius to name a few.

As for Steve Harris, well he had fast fingers, I'll give him that. But so have Flea and Trujillo.

But absolutely no sense of dynamics...
