My old xs had one major redeeming feature. It had a habit of starving around police.
You would be flying along 140 odd and all of a sudden it would slow down for no good reason to about 90. As soon as you are past smoky it would speed back up. No throttle adjustment required. Spooky. But definately good.:D

I would definitely say I have had a number of God moments when riding (and many more when not riding) that I'm quite sure He's had a close hand in.
I know a quick prayer before I go riding is a more effective safety measure than any helmet or leathers I can buy. Of course, when nature takes its course, I have discovered how essential these items are too but having God on hand to keep the road I've decided to slide down clear is very very useful!
God is definitely good.

Does yelling 'Jesus Christ' when a cage driver pulls out on you count as a prayer?

yes it does and if You scream out "Fucking Hell!" then that's another brownie point.

Yes and it was god who allowed you the foresight and money to buy the leathers you are happily shredding:D

I used to live my life by those little pushes we get,not just for cops, but when going hard on a narrow gravel road, any little bit helps....why am I going so slow!....stock truck and trailer comes around the corner ahead...2 secs quicker and it woulda been tight.
And don't try to logic it out, doing that lost me my license! saw the cop ahead and slowly reeled him in and sat behind...I'm no dummy, not going to pass him! There had been an accident a few Ks back, and then I saw a cop car and bike racing off to attend....This guy woulda been very close to the scene when the call came through, had a closer look for clues...nah,can't be a cop - so's I pass him (in the wet) I'm in my car and take the Panmure roundabout sideways and end up on the wrong side of the road - no worries eh...I'd seen nothing was coming.Next thing all hell breaks loose and I'm pulled over. He's not too happy about the state my car is in and after giving me a ticket for dangerous driving ,no WoF,no reg, speeding and maybe a few more, tells me to take the car home and never use it again.
Next day the bloody car wouldn't start, but I worked hard at it and got it going....guess who was waiting at the end of my street?
