Does anyone know if there is a moped mayhen endurance series in NZ
Theres been one running in the uk for years and i fancy giving it a go.
In the uk sreies rules are there to be ignored and from races i've seen
fairing, elbow, helmet bashing are accepted methods of overtaking.
Bikes limited to 50cc two stroke or 90cc four stroke and races are run on
tarmac ,dirt or sometimes a mixture of both.
I've tried a google search but cant find any details for NZ so if anyone knows
where i i should look please shout out.

sounds like fun, alway though full contact pit bike racing would be a good idea also. Self regulating with regards to performance, as the fastest bike would also be the most targeted I would imagine :D

Hamilton Motorcycle Club run a regular bucket race series throughout the year.More fun then a bucket full of monkey bums.

There is a group of Ar Force guys at Ohakea that do something like that, not sure on the details, but they do a 5 or 6 hour endurance race on 50cc shitters. I have spent a bit of time out at Ohakea with work and seen some of the bikes around the base, look like a real hoot.

I participated in the UK one when it first started out - can't remember when, maybe mid 1980s. It was tremendous fun. 6 hour endurance races they were. The ones who lapped the most times in 6 hours won and any number of riders could ride the bike. I remember one day there was a large works coach/truck from Kawasaki or somewhere - they were taking it seriously, but no one else could give a toss, though we did ride as fast as we could for as long as we could. We had an old GT50 Suzuki: My mate ported the barrel and I skimmed the head at work. It went like a rocket. I did several races until I got carted off in an ambulance. Typically, they were held in pub carparks or adjacent fields with the course marked by cones, tyres, bales, whatever etc.

Yup,
I would be one of them...
We run a 6 hour Mopedathon every 6 months or so.
It is a real hoot. Rules are simple:
Anything goes so long as it is 50cc or less, and has 2 wheels...
Yup, I realise we have some pretty hot RG50's out there... But remember it has to last 6 hour.... oh, and the track van be a real Donkey Fcuk... Depends who set;s it up.

Anyhow, the only catch it that because it is run on the Base, it can only be open to people employed by the NZDF.
Sweet if you are and so sorry if you aren't. BUT it is an insurance thing.

The whole concept was brought over by a UK Parallel Recruit by the user name of Lee.
He is actually OIC Team Air Force Racing (And rides the ZX6R).
