Ok what the hell. How come you could post this but not the one you wanted at first? And why can't I?

(edit) You stop up close to the car in front of you man. Kept thinkin you were gonna hit it but I think the film speed (can that term be used in this case?) fooled me. Anyway good ride, now why isn't there any sound?

Eh, it makes you look like a very erratic rider. You should record when you doing some twisties :niceone:

I have some great footage of me going up the Taka's. Only thing is, it's on Mini DV tape, and I don't even have the camcorder I recorded it on...

It's quite long too, about 5 or 6 minutes I think??? Would that be huge?

bring it up here and I'll get a cam off the father-out-law... he does vid production... i got firewire and Dr DivX so we can size it and make it work real cool....

I'm tryin to sort a tank mount for my digital 8 so i can film pi-cock and hutt mway on a weekday morning (and what us kapitians have to go thru to get to work)!
only way the mrs will let me take the camera is if it is really secure!

VERY NICE :yeah:

But I noticed one very importnat thing....... you are riding with no escape routes.... always have a space infront you can escape through.

uncompressed 6mins is about a GB then it depends on your compression. I reckon you can get it down quite small depending on ho many frames you want to drop and color and size blah blah blah

This is like a temporary edit. I am compiling very slowly an hour of tape. just a teaser sortof.

Hey pyrocam, I think you hit something a little bigger here than you were planning on. People can film thier rides then have others on this site give them advice on how to improve on thier rideing. Shit that is a good idea. Could even get those that have cams to follow those that don't so they can see what the ride like from another perspective and find out what they could improve on.

It is very important, you wouldnt want to be caught between another bike and a campervan. :msn-wink:

From a newbies point of view, I think it would be a brilliant idea for one of the more experienced riders to film a newbie when on a ride, then they can watch it together and mistakes pointed out. Mistakes can be learnt from and that's how you gain experience.

Also, as a newbie, it would be good to see experienced riders' videos to see "how it's done".

Good Idea :niceone:

Cool!
That first video is pretty crazy sped up like that. And it makes me nervous when you change lanes because I can't see what's in the lane next to you. Get a helmet cam! ;)

Im having ISSUES!

I thought premier could do it but I cant see how.

does anyone know a lossless way to flip video without me spending 20minutes or so waiting for animation shop to render.

Nice pyrocam,

Just remember to always use it. You know if you ever forget it you'll miss that once-in-a-lifetime sequence.

Your absolutley right! when I was getting out of auckland I came across this freaking awesome car. It looked like a go cart and the drivers head came up to my foot. damn cool. not my riding being filmed but still a cool shot to get.

I _think_ it said RX_7 on the back. it had like 6 exhausts. it was about 5cm from the road at the front.

the unfortuanate thing is that its not super easy to put on and take off as I use a bucketload of tape to reduce vibration and to make sure that if my bolts fail it doesnt fall off :)

*edit:

Can anyone host for me. I have only about 9MB available on orcon. I expect the new vid to come out at maybe 12-15 or so. Ideally. would make it 50 but some people arnt on broadband blah blah

Virtualdub is definitely an important piece of kit. Another good website resource is doom9 (http://www.doom9.org).

DC is a good tool for sharing. There's numerous public hubs in NZ, so you don't have to worry about international traffic. I'm generally in about 6 hubs 24/7.

Ahhm.I use Virtual Dub pretty much predominantly.
at the moment I use:
VD to record and to take clips
Animation shop to flip the clips (takes like forever)
and premiere to add audio.

Im about to test my clip so ahhm. I need somwhere to put it. I could put it on DC but thats a rather limited market.

I should be able to take care of that as long as to many people are not going to use it. Have a home server that is always on so should be fine.

Another option is get an domain name from no-ip.com (http://www.no-ip.com). You then use the domain name to set up a "site" on your computer and share the files via that. The benefit of it is particularly helpful if you don't have a static ip as it automatically updates to you actual ip. Doesn't have to be a flash site, just a simple ftp will do. The only downside is of course, it's not accessible if you're not online.

please let me know if it doesnt work

3mins. Terrible quality. 18MB

and before you say. but pyrocam. why are you riding on the right side of the road? the entire clip is mirrored. It would have taken me forever to mirror it back. im getting better at least
