The one with the grammar school accents from middle England, pretending to be Russians? One of the few films I should have walked out of half way. German sniper stands up and gives away his position. Insulting script.

TO HELL AND BACK. The true story of Audy Murphy. America’s most decorated WW2 soldier. Bit dated by today’s standards.

THE BRIDGE AT REMAGEN.

COCKLESHELL HEROES’ Who remembers this one??

FROM HERE TO ETERNITY. Worth a look just for Montgomery Cliff. There’s always been a bit of a rumour that the part on the Godfather where Johnny Fontain seeks the help of the don to get the picture part to restart his career was based on this film and Frank Sinatra.

PT109. The supposedly true story of JFK at war. Torpedo boat stuff.

RUN SILENT RUN DEEP. Still a classic sub movie and the one that got me into submarine movies. Das Boot etc.

12 O’CLOCK HIGH.

THE ENEMY BELOW.

Oldies and dated still in their time.

THE LONGEST DAY was one of the best war movies made. Would have been better without John Wayne.

Chooky

Agreed, great movie.Saving private Ryan was a fucking comedy,i turned it off when the American guy lent on a wall which caved in resulting in a standoff, all the Germans perished:tugger:Load of shite, almost as bad as "enemy at the gate",Hollywood made a movie based on factual events that never actually happened, the supposed sniper that emerged unscathed from a few hundred bullets was long ago discovered to be nothing more than propaganda to raise flagging morale.
