So, finally got round to taking the full license test today in Porirua.
Went fairly well, only made two mistakes forgot to state that the instructor following me was a hazard in the first observational test and then I got a bit confused when asked to perform two u turns consecutively and only did one, which resulted in me then stalling the bike initiating the second one (nerves).
Anyhow, I passed so am pretty chuffed with myself.
But, commuting home tonight the traffic was not moving at all up boulcott st in wellington. No way to filter through so decided to turn around and go back the way I came So I shuffled about in my lane and was facing sideways to go back the other way.
Then when pulling out to cross the centre line, a car pulled forward and distracted me also forcing me to turn quicker(the selfish pratt couldn't go anywhere just didn't want to let anyone in) and due the slight slope of the hill I nearly bloody dropped my bike. Got my foot out just in time and heaved on the bars, was close to 45 degrees tilted at this point.
Didn't drop it but it was the closest I've got to it yet. Would have ended in tears for both me and the car driver if I had.
Anyway, just gotta keep on learning and not just sit back now I've got my full, as todays' little near miss taught me.
