Howdy all, just thought id make myself known since im finally braving the bike thing again. scary!
ok. so after being pillion for the last six months i fell in love with bikes thanks to my other half. he went on and on about me riding then as fate would have it we were all geared up for the wllgntn ACC ride in Nov but my partner took the bike out (the night before) to wear in the new front tyre and unfortunately didnt come bak in one piece!not wanting to rub salt into his wound i put off the riding thing but now after much deliberation and persuasion from the boy i finally went and got my BHS cert (passed with flying colours woo!)
So now were onto the theory which i will get onto booking today! so all going to plan i will hopefully be out with you lot soon!!

Welcome!! Yes, study the road code BUT before you do the theory test, do it here
http://www.drivinginstructor.co.nz/tests.php
I think you'll find there'll be only 1 or 2 questions on your scratchy test that aren't in these tests. You'll breeze thru :niceone:

Hey there Princesszxr,
Welcome to KB and congratulations on deiciding to ride for yourself and passing the BHS
So once you pass the theory you will get the bug and next thing you will spend every moment searching for your own bike :)

Welcome to KB.
Sorry to hear of your otherhalf's bin... on a new front tyre too.... Was that part of the cause?
Anybody else see the irony of what night it was?
Well done on the BHS though, and I'm sure you will have many more enjoyable years of motorcycling. It is always better on your own bike.

Good on ya. I went on the back of a mates bike, and on the way home, I decided I wanted my own. Lucky for me I already had my licence since I was 19, so didn't have to do that part. I've been riding for 12 years now, and You cannot get me off the thing. Welcome to KB too :niceone:

Hi there - one Princess to another - great to hear you are joining us girlies in the riders seat. Have you done the theory yet? If so how did it go? If not, all the best.
Welcome to kb from me too.

Thanks just brushing up on the theory and away we go! as for the other half hes doing really well. the tyre wasnt the main cause its was a ridiculously windy night here in Plamy that night but he got caught by the wind on a bend (off and into a ditch...face up landed face up thank the big man upstairs) yea it was pretty ironic especially now that ACC is paying for all the rehab etc

You are right, from memory is was cr@p. I remember my other half saying if it's going to be like this, then I'm not going anywhere tomorrow!!
Glad it got better, because we had a lovely ride the next day....
Yes, the fact ACC are paying out now was the irony I saw in this...

Hi Princesszxr - have you thought what kind of bike you will get? I had my learners for a year before I could afford to get my first road bike, was so frustrating!

I figured a sports bike from your name :woohoo: my husband got me a Kawasaki zxr 250 to learn on but I had no confidence so we ended getting a GN250, which I outgrew within a couple of months!!!!!
And I added to my mortgage! I couldn't wait any longer as the saving for a bike thing was not happening.
