2002 YZF250 not starting

So.... my mates 2002 YZF250 isn't starting at the moment.... :angry:

Started fine two weekends ago in Upper Hutt before going to Karapoti Car Park (10mins later ) and wouldn't start at all, not even with a couple of crash starts with the quad.

Couple days before that we did a oil change and started fine ran it down the road and back for good 20mins and was running mint.

It also ran mint up and down the road in upper hutt before leaving for Karapoti.

Any ideas what could cause something so sudden ? Going to strip down the carb tonight, last night confirmed the bowl was getting petrol and there is spark.

Anyone in Upper Hutt able to have a quick look or have any ideas ?

there are three basic things a engine needs to run fuel,compresion and spark
if its getting fuel and has GOOD spark its compresion/timing,
try a new plug an check the valve clearances (i assume youve allready given the carb a once over)

Go with the simple, try a new plug, I had that happen to me with the RMZ just before a big trail ride, did all the usual checks and oil filter, started it, test ride sweet, came the day of the ride, was had to start, got her going warmed her, then shut it down went to rider brieffing came back never to start.

Got home, looked at it thought, never buy another Suzuki again, I put a new plug in, never missed a beat, moral of the story always carry a spare plug.

Check that all electrical plugs are seated correctly into their respective sockets. SpikedPunch's bike had that happen. We had, spark, fuel but I suspect no timing due a slightly disconnected plug. Her oversized fuel tank was putting pressure on a harness.

Yea mate seems that was the problem, spark plug was bit dirty cleaned it manage to get a spark but it must of been weak! So we put a new plug in and it was mint! So definitely taking a spare plug next ride. Guttered that the spark plug is in a bitch of a place to get to should it need to be changed in a hurry.

Apparently YZ's are good for fouling up spark plugs if you start them for short period of time. ( So ive been told, which i new about for my YZF450 but must be the case for all YZF's since his is a 250 )
