2003 YFZ450 quad battery not being charged

So my other mate lol, his 2003 YFZ450 quad has charging problems. If we go for a looooooooooooong ride it will start no worries, if we start it do some donuts and then turn it off it won't start and have to crash start it...

I did a quick google search which returns a few posts about the same thing so must be common a problem where a short run won't charge the battery....

Oh yea its a new battery, anyone know of a fix ? Cause there's no kick start on this beast haha

Might have to just wire up a dual battery setup with manual switch.

the problem with all the mx insipired engines is that they do not charge very well, so you need the long time, and they run small batterys with high compression motors,

best idea is to have the battery charged at all times with a battery tender or similar device, since most dirtbikes and atvs sit alot of time the batterys wear out quite quicky, and they do not need to use much juice to now be able to turn the motor over
