Don't think you're allowed to carry them. You have to sit them on pillion:D :D :D

Haven't a clue what it is over here, but the UK it's merely that they must be able to sit on the seat and reach the pillion pegs. LTSA online just burbles on about taking children on bicycles and mopeds and their legs being protected from the wheels.

From memory it is 12 and able to reach both footpegs with insteps at the same time. The current road code does not say.

I stand to be corrected, but I don't think there's an age limit. If the child is very young, you could be nailed for endangering him/her.

I don't think there is a limit either. Once I saw a SRAD Gixer 750 going along the motorway at about 150+. The dude was riding with a very young girl at the back aged between 5-10. That was a bit too extream in my opinion. But then again kids are starting to ride on their own younger and younger all the time.

When I was 6-7 years old my old man would play cricket at the Auckland domain on sundays,We would head over the bridge from the northshore on his 57 BSA Goldflash,Sundays were just the best day fer sure.
Times sure have changed tho, I won,t take a kid on a bike myself.
I sometimes see a kid on the back, shorts, tee shirt an a lid that don,t fit. Can,t work that one out I tell ya,:bash: :brick: :gob:

Thanks Guys

My Son loves to sit on the back when I rock around the back yard, but he's been realy wanting to go on the road. I thought I could take him for a slow blat around Waiuku. I'll make sure he properly covered, also he's 8 so he is able to reach the pegs and hangs on real tight.
