how to get gauges out of forks?

hey any one got any advice on getting a deep scratchs out of lower fork leg? ( not the chromoly bit the flat silver, on a vl800) would getting a small bolb of weld on it then taking to a metal polisher do any good?

i just looked jb weld up but itsnt it just some kind of glue? wont it be obvious when ive filled the scratch with something that doesnt look like the metal?

It's an epoxy, so whilst it is a glue, it's a pretty kick arse one.

There is nothing that you can add to that cast lower that will not be visible as a repair. If that bothers you, then you should repaint it after you repair it.
