View Full Version : ATGATT Police

The ATTGATT police turned up at work today. Her jacket and lid where the same bright yellow. I think the light on the back is just the finishing touch!

We have parking for bikes under the building, never seen this one parked up before. The mophead rider turned up just after her, wearing a flimsy dress, jandal's no gloves etc. Just the usual mophead standard of gear really. She got the 10 commandments of ATGATT thrown at her.

I just stood back wondering why she thought she had the right to try to dictate to someone what they should wear.

So now I know what the ATGATT police really look like, it's bright.

So what's it for? Is that actually a two-wheeled rubbish truck or emergency vehicle or summat?

I'm going to hell for (among other things)

a) thinking bad thoughts about the person whose bike that is without knowing them (but come on LOOK at it); and

b) sometimes wearing jeans and a jacket and non armoured boots AND A HALF FACE HELMET when riding around.

I thought the light was a great touch  and she certainly knew all about what gear people should wear and she wasn't afraid to let them know either. :Pokey:

that'd be great.

I'm more or less ATGATT, but geez!

It's like, wearing a condom is a good thing, and safe. But if you are just gonna shake hands instead, it's no longer sex.

Wellll...I did see a guy arse off close to my local supermarket last year. He didn't have much gear on and managed to peel his right leg of most skin from hip to ankle...certainly illustrated how fragile skin is when it's rubbing along the tarmac...(or chipseal in this case...). I felt like an ATGATT nazi that day...

Maybe she does a lot of reversing and needs a rear flashing light?

neels
29th January 2010, 11:58
That's very yellow. :wari:

The traditional purpose of the flashing light is to notify other road users of a hazard, obviously she has realised how dangerous her riding is and the danger she poses, and taken appropriate steps to warn them. ;)

Yeah, I had an off back in the UK (many many years ago), about two weeks after I got all of the right gear. If I hadn't had the right gear on I would be a right mess to this day. Needless to say I don't leave home without it now.

EDIT: But I draw the line at a yellow flashing light on the back of the bike! (excluding indicators of course)

She got the 10 commandments of ATGATT thrown at her. I just stood back wondering why she thought she had the right to try to dictate to someone what they should wear.No one is telling anyone what they should do, and no one threw anything at anyone.

It's just what they think, and they are passionate about it.

It's wrong to mistake passion for persuasion. I am sure you are passionate about something too - doesn't mean you are telling everyone what they should do? ay. ;)

Fair comment about passion and persuasion DB, although I would say the commandments definitely became airborne! they where flying.

Not my bike. I finished there about 14 months ago. Worked for Fujitsu on the second floor. It was Infinity Solutions then. Bike belongs to one of their female computer techs.

I noticed "Yellow Dog" was reading this post....must have picked up the scent of Yellow...

someone said the rider has a SV 650....good on her for looking after it and commuting on this Yellow thing....and if she commutes around a city where there are one or two idiot car drivers then full marks for her wearing the gear and riding on a bright yellow thing...I would give her some bling

Fashion follows form and Safety follows function....and ner the twa shall meet

The way to get around lighting up you bike is not too, but rather light up yourself, as there are no regulations around what a rider can wear only. Lighting is restricted to the bike/ car/ truck/ bus/ push bike/ ice cream cart lol so the last was a quick lick....

Daelim Industrial is a Korean compay which used to make the Honda motorcycles for the local market. This is probably why you see thousands of them in places like Cambodia. The Honda Daelim is the prefered bike for the Mototdop (motorcycle Taxi) as they last forever and are easy to fix and keep on the road (I would say maintain but that doesnt appy to Cambodia)

You gotta admit though GOONR, working in the city - you see some pretty disasterous things coming from the ol' scooter community! Maybe she's been working in CBD for too long and is just plain fed up.
I park in the basement of our building and am next to a bright red scooter, occupied by a lady with a half face helmet, skirt, heels and blouse. I don't say anything to her because that's her perogative, but the crazy antics of the scooting community as a whole in Auckland CBD almost puts the ACC increase in perspective :/

Still, that bike... and I thought *I* had bad taste..

Your not wrong about the scooters in the CBD, I was filtering to the front of a queue at the lights the other day and a scooter squeeeezed between me and the cars on my left, whilst I was moving. Some of them are right loon's.
