OK, let's see how this turns out...

My other plans have fallen through today, so I'm going for a spur-of-the-moment ride to Riversdale Beach.

Been there a couple of times in a car (about 18 months ago) but never on a bike.

My route will be
Waikanae - Paekak Hill - Haywards - Caltex (fuel stop) - Rimutaka Hill - Martinborough - Gladstone - Masterton (fuel stop) - Riversdale.

I'll probably retrace my steps home.

I'll be riding a black Buell Lightning, wearing black helmet, black jacket, blue camo Draggin combat pants.

I've added my mobile number to my profile, if you want to send me a text. I'll stop & check messages at the Hutt side of Haywards, Caltex, Featherston, Martinborough, Masterton.

And if anyone wants to suggest a different route / ride, that's cool with me. I got no particular plans.

I'll be leaving Waikanae about 1:30pm. It will be good to meet anyone along the way, but no big deal if you're all washing your hair. :p

Whatever you're doing today, have a great time. Ride safely.

And if I've posted this in the wrong place, I apologise. I'm new around here. :)

Photos - I should have thought of that.

It was a good trip, although I had to change my plan. Half way between Masterton & Riversdale I checked the time, thought about my dark visor & decided to turn back. So headed up the highway to Woodville, then across to Palmy & back down to Waikanae.

You're right about the weather. Damn it was hot!

So I'll do Riversdale another day.
