Well we've been away a lot in the last year or so and I can't say I've missed Wellington's weather, but its turned on a fantastic day today.

So I thought I should get my VFR out of the garage for the first time this year and take Mrs merv for a ride to let the wind blow away the cobwebs. Well we have only been in Wellington less than a week so far this year.

Anyway, fire up my lovely, soon to be 16 year old bike (its birthday is about 8th of Feb), and bugger its gone one eyed like a Ducati on low beam with its left side low beam blown.

Now do you think a Stanley headlight bulb should only last 16 years?

I'm glad they do last that long. Drop into Motomart - new bulb $65 thank you - oh well if I'm going to get ripped off I thought I may as well buy two and have a spare at home - I presume the second one is not far behind now, and it saves me the next trip over.

No sign of Sparky Bills at the shop, they tell me he's gone so I've missed that while I've been away.

So here's my sunny day's pics. Thought I'm safe against the law when the right side light was still going so we went for a ride to get a yuppy coffee all the same at Waikanae.

Looks like you had perfect weather for your ride. Glad you had such a great time.

And 16 years out of a lightbulb? I hazard a guess that it spent a lot of that time switched off ...
